Just to say thanks to everyone envolved, players and crew, for a fantastic weekend that not even the weather (or a bolloxing from my boss for sleeping in for work this morning....) could wreak. Anyway, cheers again and I hope to see everyone next year.....

Thanks Kevin. And thank you very much for travelling so far & throwing yourself into every role you played with great glee & enthusiasm! Your kind of attitude really rubs off on everyone else involved, and enhanced the game for all of us.
I'd also like to thank everyone... the staff team were hard-working as ever, the players as inspirational as ever, and the roleplaying as impressive as ever.
Especial awards:
"So Keen They Came All the Way from Guernsey" -- you know who, Jenko and his posse. He'd promised me "Guernsey's finest LRPers, carefully selected by hand" and he delivered. Honourable Mentions: Kevin for driving down from Dundee, Tom Nowell for getting public transport from York (and hanging around till the finish on Monday, despite having to get public transport BACK to York on a bank holiday).
"More Hardcore than the Hardcore" -- Kevin (Caimhin) for stripping naked & then fighting in only a loincloth, in the middle of an ankle-deep bog amid a cold, driving rainstorm. Honourable Mentions: Tom Nowell for wearing steel lamellar and plate armour up and down two summits and through most of the 7 mile adventure, Lou for wearing a mail hauberk over the whole of the same route.
"Character Most Likely to Die, who Survived as a kind of Pleasant Surprise" -- Grimnir played by Tom Nowell, who was down to 0 Fate Points at the very start of his adventure, and managed not only to avoid losing any but to gain one in the process.
"Person Most Likely to be Shoulder-Deep in Washing-Up / Cleaning / Unpleasant & Thankless Jobs at any one time" -- Graham. OK, so he is a staff member and so supposed to do washing up, but he tended to just do washing up rather than deciding he urgently needed to sort out some game issue / set dress the main room / consult an OS map / have a quick Ref Conflab / etc., like me and most of the others did. Honourable Mentions: Sally and Caitie.
"Seasoned Travellers over the Hyborian Berwyns (the Hyberwyns? the Hyberwians?)" -- ALL the players who stayed for the whole weekend, who, at about 7 miles a day, actually did more walking, trudging, getting rained on, and fighting than most of the staff team. Honourable Mentions: Pete, the only staff person to do the same along with them (even if he mostly did it to get out of doing any washing up ), plus Biggs and Bex who as Proper Actors In Real Life are used to having stunt personnel do all that difficult stuff for them, or to being driven to each significant scene, so really pulled out all the stops to do the walking instead.
"Most Determined Party Animals Above And Beyond The Call of Duty" -- again the Guernsey crew, along with Lou and our two ace musician/actors, Biggs and Bex. When I said "I advise all of you to get an early night on Sunday so we can get an early start on Monday, but you ARE your own Popes so you can do what you like," I clearly hadn't spotted how Mighty your party spirits were. It was a nice surprise though. I can only apologize for being unable to keep up.
"Most Likely to have spent the Previous Month Knee Deep in Latex, Isoflex, Evo-Stick, Weird Techno-Fabric Stuff, Sewing, Foam, and Gubbins so as to ensure we all looked Fabulous" -- Andy Rimmer, who also spent a fair bit of the event itself making stuff... honourable mention to Bridie.
Thanks, too, to all the new faces who showed up. It's always tough to go along to a game where you don't know anyone else, don't know quite what's going on, etc.
It was especially cool to see 3 teenagers amongst all us old farts: Daniel, Gideon, and Caitie. You all acquitted yourselves wonderfully, gave me real hope for the future of the hobby, and showed more maturity and ability than I've seen in a lot of older players.
Sorry if I've missed anyone or anything notable -- I didn't get to see most of the adventures, being on support crew most of the time.
Will do a "What Went Right" and "What Went Wrong" later. Still have half a mountain of damp costume to put away. Have managed to put first half outside to air & dry though. Have also had nap, and eaten too much chocolate.

| well thank for food and a game, and hikes, and now blisters on my feet, good to eventually meet some people even though I may have been withdrawn, nervous and slightly incompetent for nearly all the weekend. Shame you dont run more often, but I can see why though

It was great to see you along Xollob. "Withdrawn & nervous" is almost inevitable in a new game where you don't know anyone... and incompetent? You were pretty durned scary & menacing as Sutekh the Immortal Sorcerer yesterday, and your death scene was ace! I'll hear nothing said against your competence at crumpling dramatically.

Oh and I almost forgot (on the Awards front):
"Semi-Official Artistic Patron of Hyborian Tales" -- John Johnston, who has been unlucky enough to have paid to come along to HT for two years running now and then not make it along to either event. On the up-side, the rest of us had slightly more food, props, costumes, etc., as a DIRECT result of John's corporate sponsorship. Thanks John. Hopefully see you next year... I will buy you a pint for each year you've missed, but that might be about the best I can do.

It was great to get you & Daniel along at last Bedlum, you've been promising to come to HT for ages. I'll look forward to seeing you both again next year, or maybe at a practice in Chester before then.
Incidentally it occurs to me that since I went to sleep early on Sunday night I may have missed people off the "hardcore partying" award -- it was just that I could only hear the musicians, the Sons of Shem (or Guern), and Lou. If anyone else was there but not quite so loud, you get the award too, though you probably miss out on the "keeping me awake till 3am" award that the rest of them got.
I really hope we do pull off the 60-player event next year -- I might get a chance to stay up all night partying at least one night too, then.

| Thanks for a great weekend, interesting to finally put faces to several names. I went looking for a larp where I could walk for miles and beat up on hoards of people, I wasn't disappointed. Next time I should even have the confidence to be a lot more vocal in my roleplaying.

Great to have you along too, Jon. I think you held your own impressively amongst the Guernsey lot -- even the most vocal person might have found it tough to compete with them! You were a real asset to their party though, and an enthusiastic monster on the other adventures too -- what more could anyone want?

I blame Graham, the brief said be loud. It's a shame it was a one off character though, I think I may have found my ideal roleplay style - megalomaniac Brian Blessed impersonator.
