Hi!

I'm trying to get together some weaving props, particularly for tablet weaving. Does anyone know anywhere on the web you can buy this sort of thing?

If I am remebering the right weaving style do historical sources suggest it can be done between the weavers belt and a post/door, although this is not so practical for 'field' based LRP an elongated U could be manufactured without too much difficulty - a section of 2x2" with some dowl fitted perpendicular may suffice and could be easily dismantled for transport and storage.

This site offers some some supplies and advice on producing loom sections.

The basic tabs do not look that complex can I imagine could be easily produced in leather or thin wood.

There's a woman who goes to Outlore (www.dumnonni.com) each year who is usually tablet-weaving on-site for most of the event, and is very happy to offer hands-on tips to anyone interested. Her and her husband are really sound, in fact -- they've both forgotten more about LRP-related crafts than most other people will ever know, and are very willing to pass on what they know.
