I've used it a fair amount in the past but would no longer advise using it. The central buildings were in a very poor condition and we had a number of significant problems with the wardens last time we used it.

Very sad to see the comments about the site. We have been working very hard over the last 12 months to improve the facilities all round. apity I did not see this before now. The buildings are certainly not unsuitable and major improvements have been made to all buildings on the site. It is also a pity that the person who replied to you did not take his 'problems' with the wardens to the site maangement committee, who would have made sure that any complaints were listened to and if necessary acted upon

I have no hesitation in recommending the site to all scouts from wherever thay may be from. we have thousands of people using the site each year and very few complaints. Perhaps Rich would like to let me know what the problems were and we will see if they can be sorted.

Dave

very sad to see the comment about Tawd Vale Camp site and wish I had seen this earlier. We have been working very hard over the last 12 months to improve the whole site and the buildings are now more than satisfactory, although not as superb as we would like. It is also sad that people who have problems with the site should post comments on this site rather than speak to those involved. I would be very happy to discuss any problems with the Wardens and try to sort them out. Please do not take this one comment as a reason not to try the site. We have thousands of visitors every year and very few of them are disatisfied.

Very sad to see the reply to your enquiry and also that I have only just seen it. We have been working very hard over the last 12 months on all aspects of the site. The buildings in particular have had major improvements and are certainly not unsuitable for any type of use. It is also a pity that Rich did not take his problems with the wardens to the management committeee who would have listened to and acted upon any problems.

We have had thousands of people camping on the site over the last 12 months and to my certain knowledge there have been only a handful of complaints, all of which have been sorted satisfactorily for both sides.

I would welcome Rich coming back to me with the problems he had and  perhaps I can sort them for him.

I have no hesitation in recommending the site and hope that you will make use of it in the future. Please let me know if I can give you more information.

Welcome to Rule7 Dave, I'm just sorry that it was a complaint that drew you here.

On a positive note, it is very nice to see someone representing one of the hireable event locations posting on our forum. I would encourage more of this, then perhaps we can see a greater dialogue opening up between LRPers and site administrators. As an event organiser myself I recognise that scout camps have different priorities to what LRP games necessarily need, but greater awareness on both sides can always help.

Richc is a well respected member of the LRP community and I'm sure he will get back to you in due course.
