I didn't get into LARP through tabletop, I got into it through a university society, my sister got into it through me inviting her along to a National.  Now she thinks tabletop sounds "wierd" have times changed?

Edited to add: I forgot to add Games Workshop/Other Wargame as a choice.  How stupid am I?  Answers on a pm to...

I got into it by tagging along to a small system Oop North.

Ya see in my original post that inspired this poll I assumed the vast majority of folk got into LRP like I and my kin did via doing a bit of tabletop and then seeing an advert for LRP in a gaming mag/shop/ at a gamesday. It’ll be interesting to see if there is a common denominator nowdays.

It's weird; I'd TTed and done other styles of RP for a long time before I LARPed, but they didn't lead directly to me LARPing - rather a girl I was hanging out with at the time (who I didn't know through RP) was very into LARP, and I was very into her, and one thing led to another...

Ahh, the classic tale... girl meets girl, girl turns out to be LRPer, next thing you know they're in a field together dressed in silly outfits. I must've heard it a thousand times.

(with apologies to Rob Grant and Doug Naylor)

'I got into LRP via lust' - isn't on the list I'm afraid.

Although the 'my girl/boy friend dragged me along' must happen quite a bit.

My uni RP club does all three (LRP, TT, Wargames) so I kinda went to the first TT, LRPed the next day cos it was there and sounded fun. Am now trying wargaming. Sigh. But I suspect that's more of a 'tick all that apply' rather than 'pick one' kind of poll.

Current Character: Thenakala Jinx of the Wayward Scholars
Previous Characters: Tseleth of Raid Hive, Lady Clara D'Angeline of Mill-en, Mila aka 'Cake Lady' (for approx. 4 hours)

RL: Roisin/Rosie.
