Can anyone help, I've got a 6ft, dressed fibreglas bow with a missing nock, when I got it it had one missing and I manged to buy one from Arrowcaster, however it was the last one they had.
I then dressed it and fitted the string to test and stupidly didn't check the remaining nock, it has subsequently flown off and I can't find it.
So if anyone has a broken FG bow or a spare nock I'd love to buy it from you or swop for Latex (a nice dagger or knife-made to order).

Andy what does this nock look like. I've got some 'Friendly Plastic' like stuff that melts in warm water and then can be formed into shapes. Might work if it's just a bit of shaped plastic?

I'd worry that something that softens in "warm" water wouldn't be strong enough.
Maybe one of those two-part epoxies like Milliput or "chemical metal" would do though.

Have you tried calling a few archery suppliers, though?
If what you want is available at all, I expect it won't cost much.

I'm sure you can find others.

Ah it softens in water that has just come off the boil and seems to be tougher than most standard plastics. I’ve used it mainly to mend kids toys and the starter handle on the lawn mower. I’m telling ya it’’s tough stuff.

Is it called "Polymorph" Shelford? I have some of that too; not used it for anything yet, but one of its intended uses is tool handles, so that might do it -- Andy, you're welcome to a bit of it if you like.

Alternatively you could try the method I use to put string nocks on bundle bows, which is to wrap string round the end to make a bump, harden the string with glue, and just loop the string over the end of the bow, with the bump acting to stop the string sliding down.

Thanks everyone- I think I'll try the string n glue idea and see how I get on. I fit's not strong enough I'll try the mouldy plastic stuff.
To be honest I feel a bit of a prat- it didn't occur to me to just make one, Duh!

Ian - I've not heard it called Polymorph before but it's the stuff from Bentley Chemicals, I beleive they call it Flo-Form. It's basically the stuff art shops used to sell in little strips for a lot of money. Andy I'd be willing post you a little bit for you to try, it really is the business, you'll love it once you've tried it, I promise ya!

This is the stuff I have:

http://www.mutr.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=550

Allegedly it's very strong -- the "Friendly Plastic" stuff I've found to not be strong enough to bear weight or be used structurally.
