| Thanks for a great event! Me and Iain really enjoyed it. I've already written a review of the event in the relevant section. Now, time to unpack and consider what to pack for Maelstrom
No, you probably don't remember my character from the events I've been to.

Yes thank you to all concerned, refs, crew and players, I had a truely excellent time and it was great to meet you all.
A special thank you to Jenko (Evande the Skald) for not only stopping on route and giving me a the lift to the site, but for allowing us all to take over his tent even after his unfortunate demise.
I really do hope there will be future viking games as, a sides from the good people and great fun, it appears to be the one system in the country I can actually get on with and that in itself is a miracle.
Thank you all for making a lone player feel so welcome.
Take care all and hope to see you on other events in other places.

I had a great time crewing -- loads of fun. Special thanks to the refs for not making me play Fogl too often (I much preferred Anonymous Spear-Carrier #3), and for getting Mike to play the other priest of Freyr (Tindalos?) as he was much better at the necessary innuendo than I was.

It was a marvelous event. I havent had so much fear in battle in years, and now I have the refrain "I've got Fenris' b*****ks" firmly lodged in my mind.....
"If I cannot die with honour, then I shall live without it."
"What I love best about Maelstrom is that unexpected quality; the shifts in the balance of power. Empires rise and fall in a matter of months and years. Alliances morph and twist. Old enemies are forced to work together. Politics makes strange befellows." - Ian Sturrock

I loved crewing. High points for me were getting married by royal command, and watching Nick carry off Abi, kicking and screaming, in front of some extremely confused scout wardens and fishermen

Thank you to Sam and Rich for putting it all together for us all, I have never played anything like that before and I think it was fantastic , thank you to all the players that interacted with us thralls was very cool being bossed around all the time then being sacrificed which can I tell you is so scary even when you do finally twig whats going on ooc, I was overwhelmed with fear, ooc as well hence the no fighting to get loose I could hardly breath, again so cool, thanks Matt 'n' Si for that, and Rich 'n' Sam for writing that in a surprising me with that was awesome. and thanks to everyone else who killed me over the weekend got some good practice dying in
So again thanks to everyone it's really got me buzzing ready for the larp season to kick off now.

jenna (3/26/2007) being bossed around all the time
Me and Si made a conscious decision to be rude and order the thralls around on the way over. I'm glad I tried to stick to it.

I've never sacrificed anyone before, I was a bit nervous on the run up, since I was expecting some kind of hostility and I wasn't sure how I was going to deal with it IC. But it all seemed to go well.
Sacrificing you and making Carrie's herbalist a thrall and then giving her to the Baconator and Halfdane as a wedding present was probably the best bits of my weekend.
History is an important source for LRP. Along with other works of fiction.

making Carrie's herbalist a thrall and then giving her to the Baconator and Halfdane as a wedding present I'd overheard you discussing declaring me thrall so I had a good idea that much was comming, at least. But it was a bit of a shock when it all came in one sentance without any preamble. I'd spent most of the afternoon and evening getting up and sloooooowly edging my way to the treeline, before a warrior would spot me and order "You! Girl! Back to the fire!" I did make it all the way to the edge of the camp once but paused as there was screaming coming from the black woods and was yet again spotted and shoved back into camp. Full points to Fionavarra/Heather for checking that my healing potion was actually a healing potion before letting any of the men have it. Also well done to Katie for her repeted "Good girl, good Gunna" *pats on head* for pretty much everything. Also, Matt, thank you for not noticing my social faux pa' when my merchant accidently sacrificed more than the king to Freya - I didn't realize it until I was acctually breaking the coins.
