Hello!
I am a 16 year old guy from Denmark, and I've been roleplaying for about 5 years now. I live on this roleplaying school called Østerskov Efterskole at the moment, don't know if you've heard of it, but next year, the first half of 2008, I'm going to England as an exchange student.
As an engaged roleplayer, I've heard a lot of nice stuff about your events over there, and of course I'd like to try some of it myself..
So I need some help to find out what's good to try out. Some nice campaigns, scenarios and so on..
Can you help me with that?

| Mikkel, Great to see some more international input on here, and welcome to Rule7. I guess it depends a little on what sort of event you are looking for. We have an effective "shopfront" of system forums on here that have links to their websites below. Whereabouts in the country are you staying? Have a browse and ask questions, I am sure people will be happy to help. You can also bug me if you like, I'm happy to answer anything that I can.

| Are you mostly interested in big systems (500 people or more), or in smaller local ones? The three big systems in the UK are Maelstrom, Curious Pastimes and the Lorien Trust. They all have their own boards on these forums (the Maelstrom one looks busier because this is their main board- CP and LT have their main forums elsewhere). If you're more interested in smaller systems, then it depends on where in the UK you're going to be.
WARNING: the information above may have been subjected to dangerously high levels of ignorance.

Thanks a lot. Will take a look at some of that soonish.
To Allen, it doesn't really matter it's a big or small event, as long as it involves some great roleplaying.

The people on this board are usually very freindly and helpful and will be happy to answer any questions. The campaigns section at the bottom of the forum is the place to ask questions of specific systems. You not only have to take into account where you are going to be but also when, though.

balor (3/20/2007) You not only have to take into account where you are going to be but also when, though.
Well of course
And yes, already now, people seem very kind.

| *waves* Good to hear from you. I met a few pupils from your school at knudepunkt last month (and caught some of the lecture by one of your teachers on what the school is like). Were you there? Which part of the UK will you you be in?

I heard a lot of great stuff about Knudepunkt, but I wasn't there myself. I applied to get a spot, but sadly, no.
Oh, and I'm going to live in Brighton.

| Brighton's a great place, but then I'm biased as that's my home town... For *fest* LRP events however it's not the best location as it's way down there on the south coast and many fest events take place in the midlands... Having said that both CP and PD hold one event a year just north of London...
PD Head Ref- but as all posts here count as being unofficial, you'll need to email rules@PD for the real deal. And in those oh so rare moments of going IC: Detric of the Bespoke Atelier (and your host for the erotic performance show) and Djemba of the Shari
