It looks fairly consistent since then, but of course that's not entirely good news since they've mad-up none of that lacking revenue. Nor have they gone out of the way to remedy any problems which have arised.

Oddly enough the new Skaven stuff out next month is comparatively cheap compared to current stuff, perhaps this is a sign that they might push prices towards the sensible side ?

Once they announce prices for the new 'eavy metal*, I might start collecting New Skaven if the Vermin Lord is affordable since Fantasy Battle has consistently been a really good game.

*The Warlord minis are some of the best from the current generation of Warhammer gubbinz.

Space Hulk has had it's rules totally changed, but has Fantasy Battle stayed unchanged since '94?

By the Emperor's Golden Commode! Cultists and cultists and guardsmen, oh my! Come and see the plans for Anti-Heretical, Investigative and sometimes shooty larp at Firefight.

Warhammer's changed a huge amount admittedly - they wanted to tone it down after Herohammer which was a good thing when you consider a lot of armies sort of became rather faceless. The current "new" Warhammer is a much more balanced game of tactics than it was (I started off with the '96 iteration where they dropped levelled heroes etc.) before, characters aren't unstoppable, and there's much more flavour for each force. Or at least that's my own opinion. It's the best they have at the moment since all players otherwise have is LOTR and an ever-cheapened 40k.

I maintain I'll stick to my old Space Hulk at any rate, even if the Terminators look shit.

If you see a copy of the second edition on e-bay, it's worth a punt: Nice boards with nice minatures, similar enough rules (better flamer rules, really.)

The third edition is very, very pretty. But good luck finding it, at all.

Its been continually tweaked since then, but the core principles/stats etc remain the same. By contrast, 40k underwent a big overhaul in the late 90s.

Eos: Manius Shard. Green and gold shiny healy thing.

Shadow Wars: Johnny Hyper, Hack the Planet!

Odyssey: Was Prince Ramekhet IV, of the line of Nectanebo etc etc; now Quintus Antoninus, sentimental fool err... philosopher of Rome.

Googled second edition and there's a huge contrast isn't there ... The Terminators don't look like Nazi cyborgs for a start. Didn't even know this existed ! Methinks Ebay is getting a visit today.

No longer shall I tread on miniatures bare-foot and receive many sharp pains ...
