Just found a version of the TearDown productions version of Space Hulk.
Works fine on Win XP
Seems to be a good, almost exact conversion for 1P

Only thing I'll say is NEVER* quit a mission. Everybody dies and you have to start again from scratch.

I must have sucker written on my forehead, after a decade of being free and clean of GW, all it takes is one look at the new genestealer minatures being released with the new ed of Space Hulk, and I turn into a feverish fanboy all over again.

The new Spulk minis are far & away the best minis GW has ever done, IMO...

I still prefer their totally multi-part models (because I love mixing & matching bits from lots of their ranges and doing heavy conversions) but for just-out-of-the-box-and-awesome? Yep, New Hulk beats everything.

I fully intend to do some fairly serious conversion of the new Spulk termies -- gotta change 'em from Blood Angels to Dark Angels, which apparently will involve removing up to 40 blood drop symbols from each one...

I'm taking a shortcut - mine are only going as far as Fleshtearers.

I'll probably take this opportunity to start an All-Black-Rage army. Mmmm.

| My copy of 3rd ed turned up yesterday, have to say it's so pristine I barely have the courage to even attempt using it. The board sections are beautifully illustrated (and slightly textured!). My friend seems to think the terminators are slightly undersized, but I haven't had chance to compare them as yet, still they are very nice. The whole think reeks of quality, my only critisim is the mission book, all updated with a few new twists there still pretty much the same missions as from previous editions. On the whole, worth £60? Unless you really like SH and don't already own your own copy, probably not. But if your a fan of the game and have the spare cash you'll buy a copy regardless, if only for the freaking genestealer comming out of the god-dam floor.

| Mine arrived yesterday as well. God it's beautiful! It's worth the £60 if you collect Blood Angels or Tyranids. Two far less attractive squads of 5 terminators would normally set you back £50 on their own, let alone the terminator librarian and the possibility to use the models as terminator captains... For nid players, 24 normal Genestealers would cost £45 and the Broodlord would be a further £12. The rules and missions are both pretty much identical to the original 1st edition game + some of the supplements. Think that was a deliberate move by GW? They are classics, after all. Don't mess with the best! And those floor tiles, with their semi-embossed thing? Beautiful. Especially the chapel room with all the raised skulls.
