Hi all,

This may sound a little vague, but are the any folks out there who may be interested in starting a larp ground in Notingham, ideally with the following criteria:

Possibly monthly day games, on saturdays or sundays - maybe starting with weapon practice perhaps?

Fairly easy site to get to by public transport ( I've got on in mind, but haven't looked into it yet)

I dont have any other info at the moment, as this is just 'testing the waters' and seeing if theres enough interest to warrent any extra effort?

Yep put me down on the list as interested. Things on my ideal local LRP group wish list are:
  • a good level of monster costumes and props.
  • simple rules with little if not no character progression.
  • A believable fantasy background.
  • Hardly any non human player races.
  • A private site.
  • Occasional over night camping.
  • Cheap yet high quality.

If it had all these things there are quite a few LRPers around Nottingham and Derby that would go.

Hi guys,

Can't help you much on the local lrp in your neighbourhood, but Nyctophobia are not a million miles away from you in Harmer Green on 10-12th August - http://www.nyctophobia.org.uk

Have a look and let us know - if you decide against it, it would be helpful if you could let us know why

Cheers,
Nathan.

Hi Nathan
Nycto is on the list of games for me to do, so I don't have any reason not to.
Looks like you're turning out some quality stuff there.
I think one of the issues with some Nottingham people, is that they would like a a bit of a cheap and cheerful linear club that then visited events and organised transport for those without cars. Plus maybe the odd pint down the pub and a froth. I may be wrong but that's the feeling I get.
Matt

I'd second Matt. I'm at uni in Buxton at the moment but I'd get involved in a Nottingham group plus I pick my kit up from Notts for LT events so I'd be happy to give people lifts to anything I'd going to.
