Well since we've already gained a Warcrack thread, i can't see why similar shouldn't happen with TES 4 Oblivion. SO, what character concepts have people been doing? What do you feel works well in reference to race/class etc. And of course, what plot thread have you followed?

I've got Oblivion but have barely played it due to the fact that it runs like an arthritic sloth on my 'puter and I can't afford to upgrade.

I had a go on someone else's computer (mine is too pathetic to run it); it is very pretty but there are lots of bits where you can see they wanted to do something but didn't have time to implement it (fighting from horseback, joining the Mythic Dawn). Also the 'things level up with you' mechanic is a little insane, meaning that choosing skills you use all the time like armour or athletics for favoured skills makes everything get hard faster than you get shiny kit...

I've got a cat person marksman type. Their night vision skill is especially handy for sniping people in the dark.

not yet. To be honest, I've started the game three times because I hated the characters I'd chosen. BUt looks like kitty sniper boy is going to go the distance.

you got any magic skills at all? Once i got far i started getting missions if found difficult to finish without some magic to help me, and as they were minor skills for my character i've basically had to keep leveling up and then getting trained.
