Hi.
I'm sure it's not all been settled yet, but I have a fairly radical suggestion for alteration of the Format of the 'Craft' side of this board.
1) Set a number of Fora aside as dedicated to supporting the setting up and running of LRP events.
2) Set these fora up in line with the way such systems and events are devised, running from first principles to final execution and reactions, so the fora would/could be.
Initial Ideas - Where people talk about the basic concepts and ideas for an event or system
"I want to run a Dynastic Freeform style game based on Pendragon, running with the idea that each event covers about 2 years of IC time, and that each 'season' of events runs for about 20 years."
System and Mechanics - Where people talk about what systems, mechanics, beckground and the 'fine detail' of how they would acheive the basic concepts
"I would have rules for ageing and birth, etc."
Production and Method - where people talk about the physical side of putting an event together
"I need a place with 2-3 meeting rooms and a comfortable OOC area for between 'sessions' - and a prop Throne"
Finally
Actual Play - where people talk about what went right and what went wrong, and maybe how to fix it.
"The succession tables are screwed, we never had clear dynastic sessions."
One of the many problems that happened in Pagga's foums was the lack of practical application and an understanding of the fact that you cannot critise rules for achieving an objective you don't like. If I say "I want high-fantasy exxplosice magic, and so I'll have point and click spells" you can't then say "Those are bad rules because I don't like high fanstasy style!"
Thanks for listening.

Oh, and thinking about it...
A place to talk about Plot, which would go between System and Production

| Thanks Simon, I have been looking at the breakdown of LRP/LARP development into categories and the three that are in place were my thoughts for now. However I'll read your points in detail and think them through when its not eleven at night and make some decisions on whether we should change it round a bit.

| Simon, Okay, have taken your thoughts onboard a rebuild of that category. I think Plot methodology and system design need to share a discussion area as rules and plot should have intrinisic ties in the type of game you elect to develop. Otherwise I've gone with most of what you've suggested. Apart from the topic names...
