| I know what it means, but it is a relatively recent word. Anyone have any idea where it has come from? I have no idea. Where did it first appear and how long has it been going around? I rather like it, but was curious, that's all.

I heard 'Squee' was the death cry of the Hydran race. Their only other word was 'Murnt'

I've always associated it with Jhonen Vasquez's books- in particular, the nameless little boy from the Johnny the Homicidal Maniac series, who Johnny refers to as Squee because this is (not unreasonably) the noise he makes when confronted by said homicidal maniac.
Thinking about it, I have no idea if Vasquez came up with the word, but I suspect he might have helped popularise it.
Johnny the Homicidal Maniac was first published in 1995, according to Wikipedia.

I dunno, but my friend in Sweden uses it as a exclaimation that someone is 'hot'?!

'Squee' is also a short form of 'squeal', used almost exclusively by fangirls. I know nothing about that. Honest.

I have personally been saying 'squee' when something fun/exciting/similar happens for the past 15 years. Until about 3 years ago, i was the only person i had ever met that said it
So personally, i think everyone heard it from me

I was under the impression that it originated with a certain goblin nabob.
