I realise this is rather late, but have you tried

www.thedarkdoor.co.uk

Went to their event a couple of weeks ago and it was very good.

To quote their preamble:

Since 1993 The Dark Door has been running horror based live role-playing events set within the Cthulhu Mythos.

Have to agree, Darkdoor are great.

I've done two events so far, and their very friendly, use a nice simple system that lets u get stuck in, and are great fun.

Where you at the last one?  Who were you?

I was the gecky scientist with the clipboard - mercilessly gunned down by the traitorous army Major.  (Thanks Dave! )

Ah!  Hi there.

Not sure what to be ... I think a military type seems almost unavailable.  I may go for the scientist role again if one is available - I really enjoyed myself.

Cowardly ... may be.  I didn't see that.  And at least I trusted you enough to tell you about my very secret and personal explosive test tube.

Where are these guys and when are they running again?  I can't find either of those things on their website...

go to the forums.  Next event not yet booking.

This is _so_ close to being helpful.

Hi all,

The Dark Door will be running an event in the fourth quarter of this year. Bookings are likely to open in June/July for the event date in September/October.

Probably.

I'm sure you know how easy it is for slippage to occur when organising these things. Our Future Events section on the website is presently empty awaiting final confirmation of when the event will be. For a more up to date idea of what's happening with us you're very welcome to lurk or say hi on our forum which is here.

We run Mythos inspired events primarily set in 1920's Britain but we have been known to pay the odd visit to 1880's and 1950's Britain too.

The next event; "Pegasus: The Vigil" will have a heavy military feel much like our previous event "Pegesus: The Damocles Imperative", there are photos from Damocles on our website if you want to get a feel for what I mean.

The Dark Door events are very "rules light" relying primarily on narative and atmosphere. (We don't hold any truck with scissors/paper/stone as a method of saving humanity. )

We usually have a starting party size in the order of twelve to fifteen or so, but that's ok since the mortality rate is pretty high as you'd expect in Lovecraft's world.

If anyone would like any more detailed information please drop by our forum or click on the "Contact us" link on the website.

I remain your most humble servant...
