The main thing that sparked my interest was that Berezovsky has had business dealings with Neil Bush, George W's younger brother. Of coarse I may be reading far too much into that.

It sounds like a beautiful start to a conspiracy theory if you ask me, go for it!

| So my theory is that the CIA killed Litvinenko using a messy radioactive method that would implicate the Russian government. This would result in the UK breaking relations with Russia and Putin's rule collapsing. Boris Berezovsky can then return to power in Russia and organise a puppet leader for the country. Berezovsky can then freely enter into selling Russian oil to the US via George W's brother Neil. Hey I almost believe it!

Best theory i've heard so far!
My issue is why he was killed in a way which would be detected, and implicate a very select group of people, even though it may have cost a fortune to provide such material!
Just doesn't add up....
The political fallout (excuse the pun!) must have been a primary reason. Pretty much rules out Putin as i see it, unless he wanted to show he doesn't give a fuck about diplomacy, and has power to act with impunity.

| Using a radioactive substance that can only be obtained from a nuclear facility is a bit of a weird one. Apparently the source of the Polonium can be traced due to different purification plants producing different traceable processing fingerprints and I bet ya this will be traced to a Russian facility. It’s a bit of a coincidence that the UK government were/are in talks with Russia about the safety of radioactive material and the stuff finding it’s way onto the black market via the Russian mafia. The only advantage of using it to kill someone would be to further discredit the Putin government. It’s the CIA that did it I tell’s ya!

| It's not a conspiracy theory- it's simply spy terms and conditions (section 5:Retirement. Clause 2-Para 7) all operatives are entitled (when required) to be "retired" in a suitably glamorous and potenetially avoidable manner. e.g Dropping from an aircraft without a parachute (note it should be possible to secure a parachute from the "retirer"). Being suspended above a pool of hungry animals- whilst a candle burns through the rope. Radioactive poisoning (preferably administered via a rarely used food source-caviar or sushi are ideal). Being placed in a Car crusher. ....

Now I may of become obsessed by all this but I know have a new theory. Could Litvinenko and the other businessmen have merely just been trading in illegal stolen radioactive substances and then stupidly accidently just poisoned themselves whilst handling the stuff?
