A couple of people have asked me about the procedure for Ongoing Actions. I quote from page 5 of the rulebook (honestly, sometimes I think people just don't read it!)
>"Each player will have a profile with the organizers with codes/items, ammo etc. noted as well as any Ongoing Actions. Before an event starts, the players will receive current code and ammo slips for what they have."
Read: 'The organisers will do their best to keep a running account of what your character has, but this necessitates your co-operation. And not leaving it to the last minute to put character pack together. Apologies for any mistakes.'
>"Players may wish to have their Characters 'doing something ' between events other than just spending Rp [Resource Points], such as research or organizing building structures and so-on. It is essentially up to players to learn as they go, how long things may take them or their community, or what is necessary to achieve certain goals. (See also Rarity and Costs).
Brief discussion with the organizers may yield rough guidelines on possible requirements etc. but a written account of the action is required."
For brief discussion, that means either at the event or by sending one or two emails (no ongoing dialogues, please) with your questions, before finalising and submitting your OA.

- Any other player Characters involved
- Coordinator name/ contact Character name.
Note that players acting together in Ongoing must all agree (in writing or at event) on a Coordinator for the action, (usually a member of the home region where the action is attempted) and all must provide a written account containing the action and include the chosen Coordinator's name."
All parties must mention each other in their OA for it to be successful, unless A is doing something sneaky to B without her knowledge. Failure to do so will result in the attempted action being unsuccessful.
Reminder: the location your character is at between events and their perceived status at said location affects the availability of skills/gear. If your character travels away from home and spends their OA in a foreign place (i.e. a Westlitsider in City) on their own, they may have more difficulty trading on their reputation than if accompanied by a native. You may move home permanently but may need to spend some time becoming accepted and building reputation. RP reflect both reputation and perceived value of a Character or any items of barter. The phrase 'selling coal to miners' springs to mind - watch that.

And I'll just add: it's much easier for us if you send straight text in an email. - Our new comp. can now readily accept Word docs. But it doesn't mean we have to like it..-

Like having to re-write the rulebook.

Ongoing Actions (Riftworld's version of downtime) Post Event 10
There will be two blocks of three month periods. You may submit what you want to do in the whole six month bracket but you will have the option to re-submit the latter three month period once Fain has replied to your first three month period. OR you can simply submit the first three month period OA and leave it at that until you receive a reply.
Deadline for the first three month period is Monday June 11th.
**UPDATE**Deadline for the final three month period is Saturday OCTOBER 14th. 
Ongoing Actions must include:
- Real name/ character name
- Codes of specific special items and Skill names used
- Any other player Characters involved
- Coordinator name/ contact Character name.

Update: Fain has finished writing replies to the OA's that were submitted. I will be sending them off to you sometime next week - apologies for not getting them done before Maelstrom. See some of you there!

Hello, remember me?
First, apologies for the time taken.
The OAs that reached me for the first period (now down as IC 4 months/to end of April), are sorted and Minion will be sending them out shortly.
After receiving these, another OA can be submitted along with queries etc.
Anyone can submit from this period who didn't before and I am happy for info from other characters OA to influence these as long as no piss-taking is done, reasonable justification/connection is there etc. I'll trust you lot to decide what your characters would tell each other and so-on, you've been at this long enough...
Intimate details on Board - unless one of the Crew set a precedent on topic and make it IC public, please don't public forum them. Private IC mail/messages are fine with me. If you have a post for story pleasure that you think may have 'non-public' details in it, please check with me or Minion before posting it.
