| I have a new cat, a rather cute Bengalese blue eyed snow. She is lovely but Im really struggling for a name that I like... I was thinking something Norse of Celtic (pref Irish), but Im open to suggestions on what to call her... Suggestions please... Only have a pic of her brother online at the moment... but it gives an indication of what she looks like...

| Sarah here... What you need is an onamastikon, or dictionary of names. There used to be an excellent one compiled by someone called Kate Monk, but although Google has pulled up several references to it, it has failed to provide a link. Thats twice today Google has failed me. *EDIT* - allegedly its http://www.gaminggeeks.org/Resources/KateMonk/ but that wont load for me.

I was always partial to Dalny as a Celtic name -- she was the Queen of one of the invaders of Ireland in the Book of Invasions. The Gaelic version is written Dealgnaid, but that might be a tricky one to teach the vet how to pronounce.

I've always been partial to names like Astrophe for such animals.
