Well I sit at my desk after 24hrs of zombie fueled mayhem

Thanks to all the players & staff for making last week end so much fun. I had no idea what to expect & it ended up being the best 15 pounds I have spent in a long time.

For those who did not go it was a mix of Resident evil, Brain dead & shaun of the dead

The Good bits

  • 24hr event that was pretty much 24hrs time in
  • IC hut to live (& die ) in
  • Good site, just the right size for player numbers
  • Killing people just coz we could
  • The nutter with a pie tray on his head
  • Being stuck in room with 2 zombies & only being saved because they could not undo the zip on a tent
  • Plot zwists

The not so good

  • Occasionally we could have done with more zombies

Overall I had a great time & will def go to the next of these ash runs

We had four NPCs less than we were planning on, who all had to back out with less than 24hours notice. The site was teeny (maybe two acres total). We could both see and hear the traffic on the A road all the time.

We had less players than we were expecting, but that actually turned out to be an advantage. I don't know what we would have done with twice the players on a tiny site with half the crew AWOL. The site kept everybody close-in and helped add to the feelings of claustrophobia we were hoping for. All-in-all, it turned out very well. The players seemed to enjoy themselves.

We added three encounters right before we set out on Friday. The one I came up with Ash scoffed at, but later ended up enjoying immensely. The one Ash came up with I scoffed at, but also ended up having a ball with. The one I had in a dream the night previous and added in just because went almost exactly as in the dream. Points for guessing which was which.

Also, Sons of Set, you guys rock.

I will agree with everything here, just to add the traffic passing wasn't a concern, it might have been if it was a fantasy/ancient event, but modern day nope.

Sore crew would have been nice, but the sence of security that came from knowing you had all teh crew in sight was blown out the water on Saturday evening Hey we're SoS undeath is our thing

And thank you, we really did enjoy it, and in return we (SoS) are thinking of running a modern day horror next year, so I would hope you guys can return the favour and play our event

Well informed people know it is impossible to transmit the voice over wires and that were it possible to do so, the thing would be of no practical value. - Editorial in the Boston Post (1865)

I loved crewing for you guys, it were great!

I loved the expressions on your faces when you realised...yes, the army was coming and no,...they weren't going to be happy with Dr Frasier,,,I seriously thought you were going to shoot me

And I absolutely loved being the zombie that couldn;t get out of a tent due to zips...Just listening to the relief in your voices as you realised that we couldn't get out nearly had me in stitches...I swear, if I'd heard you explain it to one more person I'd have had an hysterical fit...

"Nah, it's ok, no zombies in here...well, apart from the two int the tent... but don't worry, they can't get out... they're frikking stupid."
