More entertaining than the new hood... And Billie Piper certainly nicer to look at than whoever plays Marion.

I'm hoping "Torchwood" stands up well. Ah, ever hopeful me.

I couldnt remember why I dont pay my licensing fee, thankfully robin hood reminded me!

Dire was not the word, the script and location was ok, annoying scene title swish arrow things got me and then I saw the costume. I am not a betting person but if we all got together I think we could stock out the robin hood wardrobe, so what if some of us trawled charity shops? I role play I do not excpect to see the beeb do it.

Plastic costume and acting, bird crushing and an all together poor show thankfully watching with friends we went through all the robin hood series etc that were made and commented on them all so luckily missed some of the show. Does the beeb throw away good kit and keep crap?

I say we should tell the beeb to use lrp kit next time and at least we will not see as many errors. My gambeson(sp) is a red padded jacket with sleeves cut and turned so tartan is inside. Covered over in real chain and I am on benfit.

Needless to say I was appalled by what the beeb did to us, what could have been a good series destroyed by rubbish attention to detail. Pass me the booze for the next episode and with hazy eyes I hope that the next episode is better and they found more money in the meantime.

I've only been able to watch the first 10 minutes so far.

Looks like they got the same quality of scriptwriter as seen on the diabolical Earthsea.
None of what I saw needed to be Robin Hood - it could have equally worked in Hawk the Slayer.

EPISODE 2?

I thought it was better than the pilot (or maybe my expectations have been duly lowered) the fights looked more like fights and alot less "matrixy" crap involved. I'm also beginning to think that some of them can act a *teeny* little bit.

The PG13 "I can't kill anyone" excuse was fucking lame however. Especially as he doesn't seem to care if his men murder everyone they fight.

Oh, and Maid Marion actually wearing a fur-bikini type affair - fucking brilliant!

I thought the second episode was just as bad. And the costume was appalling still - modern t-shirts! Abysmal.

The modern T shirts (shudder) were no way as bad as the really not at all subtle sledgehammer references to the war on terror that seemed to punctuate every dialogue. Oh, look at us, we are being really clever and post modern ain't we. See we can bring this genre into the modern day by referencing the Crusades... Oh dear...

And why does Guisbourne need to mention that his name is Guisbourne every time he appears on screen?

And why is the dialogue so terribly stilted?

And why... oh, forget it...

2nd episode I had thought by now that they might have upgraded their armour stats but all it did was kill 20 or so minutes for me. No great loss that I missed the beginning. Still I like the idea of Robins cloak with the hole for the quiver but no good when it rains

What happened to Much's jumper?

Did they start to realise that the costumes were eating into their profit margin?

I wonder if ITV will loan the BBC the Hornblower series much loved by me and cannot afford the box set

Liked the second episode better... much better paced than the first although whenever Much is on screen I just think "shut up, you whiny little git!"

The costume is starting to really get on my nerves though... modern t-shirts? Cotton boxers? Modern boots with heels? It's not rocket science...

I think robins hood/space for quiver is pretty funky. if you look it seems to be a tube type affair with a hole at each end. I reckon you could pull it up to keep dry.
Considering this level of sophistication from the costume dept. it does make me wonder why Much seems to be wearing a
