We're running a CP sanctioned event November 17-19th in Stafford (at Kibblestone) called Oktoberfest. We have a few places still going so thought I'd put a post on here.

We is "Mandala" - a group set up (mainly refs/former refs) to run a couple of sanctioned events a year for CP and the odd other event (eg we're doing a scifi event in Feb)

Theme is Teutonian beer festival in a tavern near a mage tower.

If you fancy trying out the CP system at a smaller event, fancy doing LRP in the Winter with some of the hassle taken out of it (fully catered including a banquet plus indoor accomodation) then drop me a line at mandalalrp@gmail.com and I'll give you more details. Cost is £60 to attend.

We've had great feedback so far averaging out at over 4 out of 5 in all criteria from people we've specifically asked to be harsh so we can make the games as good as possible.

Sounds like an ace event, I have to admit -- I always enjoyed smaller CP events. I was supposed to be at the Scavenger LRP event that weekend, but it's not been confirmed so I'm guessing it'll not be happening.

Hmm... would I be able to bring back an old CP character who hasn't played for about 6 years? Not sure I still have my character card around, but Paul Tucker should be able to confirm that I didn't actually die at any point... have to try to dig out my badly written Spirt Sword lammy too, and get that re-confirmed... still don't have a crew, either. Anyway, yeah, I was a Wolf for a year or two, from the second Siege event onwards, mostly when Paul was Lord Wolf.

wow - going back a bit.

I see no problem with any of that apart from the spirit sword. It would need to be reregistered with CP which we can't do as we're a sanctioned event.

I can try and help sort that out tho if you're interested in coming.

I'll consult the missus -- but Scavenger LRP is definitely cancelled, and Staffordshire's not that far, and you do present a very tempting-sounding event. In fact, food & beer & fighting all for one fee -- sounds like Valhalla, only I don't have to die first!

Dangnabbit, I can't do that weekend after all -- a course I was going to be on has been moved to then.

This does mean I may be able to get to Riftworld instead, as the original course date was then... so it's not all bad. I'd be interested in finding out more about Mandala events though, if you run any more.

Ah well - maybe we'll see you at a future one.

Next ones we've got planned are:

Alone - Scifi using Gunfest system - 16th-18th February £75 fully catered (basic), indoor accomodation, low player cap so if you're interested book early as 50% spaces gone already

Tollers Gambit - CP-sanctioned end of March (site not booked yet!). £60 fully catered (basic), indoor accomodation. Lots of spaces for this one!
