or is it going to be one of these oversubscribed event things where if you didn't book for the first one and aren't sleeping with one of the organisers that you never get a chance to play?

I'd like to say, as one of the organisers girlfriends, I'm crewing not playing

Seriously though, there still crew space, and lots of it.. To be honest the boys are trying really hard to have more crew than players book, so about equal numbers turn up.. If you want to crew, send me a pm or email them from the website.

I believe the plan for subsequent events is to have a larger player base for the next event providing it all goes well.. It has been play tested at my uni, and it (theoretically) works, so there shouldn't be any issues, and aside from that i trust the lads to run a good event.

As for Chinese, I believe (though don't hold me to this) that there will be sheets of Chinese (or rather firefly-verse Chinese) floating around, but don't ask us to help you with saying it

(ps. we're all excited too)

Let me get this straight...we could be trading player spaces for sexual favours?
Depending on how the first event goes event two will look to run with more players, however one step at a time. The key to getting it to work as a game is effective use of crew, if you'd like to come along and join in as crew we'd be grateful for the help.
On the Chinese front I can't say I can speak Chinese, however we do have four or five pages of useful phrases and cunning insults in Chinese that people can hurl at random if required. Personally I just tend to say Led Zepplin lyrics backwards.
The rules have been successfully playtested as they stand, the basics are the same as Stargate however there are significant changes in philosophy. Characters have less Vitality and have a lower potential maximum, however Vitality refreshes at twice the speed and healing is also quicker. We've also dropped the feats system as it didn't fit within the feel of the game.

Glad people are getting excited, hopefully we can make this live up to expectations. Heck, maybe one day we can do a Serenity festival event... (At this point the writer apologises for the divergence from realistic probability.)

I'd love to have a go - to crew or play but I don't think I can manage this one - definitely keeping an eye out for the next one

Such a shame firefly was cut so short, could have gone for a while.   Serenity LRP sounds like a great game, if I get time off work I definately think I'll give it a go

Well, neither myself nor my girlfriend will be able to make the first event because we won't be in the right country.  Depending on how often you're thinking of running, then crewing or indeed playing would be something we'd be up for.

There is only overconfidence and terror.

As I understand it, all player spaces for the first event are gone; book early for event 2 to avoid disappointment ... or offer to crew for the organisers.

If it weren't the weekend adjacent to a Maelstrom event I'd have been all over it like a rash.

Yeah, tis the weekend after HT, and the weekend before Maelstrom -- I can't get along to crew this time. Sometime though....

You and me both. Clearly the date was deliberately picked to make us hates them all.

History is an important source for LRP. Along with other works of fiction.
