There are currently plans afoot for a mass blog post by all those who oppose this legislation. It is planned to take place early in October sometime (to coincide with the return of parliament). The organisers would like as many people as possible to make a post on this day and link thier blog to the central website.

How is that going to help exactly? Is anyone going to inform the press? Since we have to do battle with 50,000 core voters who signed a petition trying to "Ban this filth" I can see how people posting on their blogs is going to achieve much...

I have no idea how the logistics of it will be managed - not my plan, I have nothing to do with it. Just something I came across and thought it deserved support.

I beleive that there is a plan to inform the media and publicise it. All that is needed now are people to add to the list of blogs taking part. That is the point of a central web page linking all the blogs together - one web link is then sent to the press.

Right, I think that kinda makes sense. Let's just hope the press pay attention to it.
I am just wary of the falasy of "ooo, sign this internet petition" type of political action.

Oh, I agree with that. Though I think a lot more politicians are paying attention to web logs and the like now. A lot of them are even keeping them and using them to publish opinions and give feedback themselves. The trick is getting them to read a particular log...
