I hate to say it but that dragon looks... well, a bit crap. Kind of like the big plastic dragons at the Camelot theme park.
Might just be bad photos though.

lamiatrading (10/24/2006)As for the safety issue Andy, i reckon we could cover the site with a large safety net
Rope Burn?
I still think that waiting until you're a few feet off the ground and then jumping off should work.
What else could we use as a big centrepiece monster- like I said the dragons been done, and hopefully DB will come back to it, fix the glitches and flip the finger to everyone who's slagged them off ( me included).

| I was there and I, too, think it was one of the best events I've ever visited. By far the best when it comes to the standards of roleplaying, camps, facilities, etc. The logistics and organisation was lacking due to the ambitiousness of the project, but to me this did not detract from the event. I could have done without the special effects and even without the dragon, but in the end they did not bother me that much. I learned a lot about immersion, about writing proper culture background, using concepts like culture clash, stuff like that. The mentality of the people at the event (the vast majority, anyway), was vastly different from the mentality of people I've met at other events, in Holland, Belgium, the UK.. Most of the time, it's a game and people are trying to win. They dress it up in different ways, but that's what it mostly comes down to. I played this way myself. However, at this event people were far too busy with being their character to consider ways to 'win'. The people that were trying to come out on top were doing this from a purely IC point of view. I think that's what it boils down to: people were reacting primarily from their character, instead of a player trying to think like their character. If that makes any sense. I can count the amount of OOC moments I had (and they were just that - short moments) on one hand. That's damn impressive, for a 4 day event. Marc.
