Considering half of head office are larpers anyway... I'm not buying the "all larpers hate GW" idea, nor the reverse of it.

I suppose it makes sence that like most gamers, there would be a mix around in head office as well. Though there can be a difference between official policy and employees preferance for games. I met Jarvis ?? many many years ago, who told me he didn't play GW outside of work to have a break. But other systems.
No matter how many larpers are employeed by GW, it seems the company has developed a bad rep and somebody in the comapany set the policy. If something changes and I do the launch I'll post what happens. BTW I dont drink much so the beer tokens, mean squat to me. (mad scrambling sound from those who'll take them )

Does GW really have a bad rep? apart from the few posts here, I don't think it does...
As for "setting the policy" what policy is this? I thought we'd established this was a local thing (for local people).

Hello, my names Michael. I’m an ex-Games Workshop Employee.
(Hi Michael)
I’ve not touched a miniature in 5 years,
(That’s okay Michael… let it out – we’re all friends here)
Amongst the older gamer community there certainly is a bad reputation that permeates GW’s new releases. It happens in most things – a Nostalgia for the before times . Today’s game is “too simple”, “for kids”, “too commercial”. Those of us who remember the friendly little company who sold Talisman and had evening clubs to play D&D and WFRP are disillusioned by the big business attitudes of (what is to be frank) a big business.
“I remember when you could get 20 lead miniatures for thrupence.. real lead now – none of this pansy alloys - when we were kids we were glad to get lead poisoning… it showed we were having fun. And it took 3 days to play a proper game. None of this 2 hours nonsense – if you didn’t have to sleep near the board to make sure you’re opponent didn’t get up in the middle of the night and move the figures then it wasn’t a game… but we were happier back then… even though we were poor…”
Sorry…zoned out there for a second…. What were we talking about?

Maybe you could ask GW to make a donation to some charity instead of beer tokens? It would make the whole thing sound a bit more decent and less exploitative of vulnerable LRPers.

I don’t see what’s wrong with exploiting vulnerable LRPers – but I like the idea of a charity donation. Give your Beer tokens to the homeless!

Or you could find some homeless guys and dress them up as barbarians or some such like and send them along?

"As for "setting the policy" what policy is this? I thought we'd established this was a local thing (for local people)"
You cant put up signs for anything other than GW in there stores etc. They have a we support ourselves and no body else. Which seems to have annoyed people.
Like the other GW thread on this forum, if you mention GW it becomes and 'emotional issue', with lost of ranting and raving. So no matter what the subjetc is it just become and GW suck/no they dont argument!
