I’m thinking of getting an X-box 360 with the idea of getting Dead Rising when it comes out in a couple of weeks.
Have you got any advice on the 360? Is it worth it? What games are good?

all depends what you want it for TBH.
Fable 2 should be amazing...

I've had an X360 since early on. Got it bundled with perfect dark zero... meh.
The first game I buy for it will be Dead Rising. Actually that's a fib, I've already bought it, it's in the post from Canada right now :-)
So far, if you're a discerning gamer (or like me, have little time nowadays to invest in games) there's not been much out for it. Live is a giggle though, and some of the downloadable games are fun.
It is however, a brilliant media hub. Mine hooks up to our wireless lan, and streams all our music files and videos to the big hi-fi/home cinema setup in the lounge. Dedicated pieces of kit to do the same job cost almost as much without the gaming option.
My PC is a couple of years old (still on AGP - the horror) and to build a PC that would beat the X360 on performance on parallel titles (of which there are a few now) would cost lots more too...
Food for thought...

Good things about the 360:
Controllers are the best I've ever used (the dpad is a bit pants, but who uses a dpad?) And the wireless ones are a dream
Downloading demos from Live marketplace
Dead Rising
Ability to plug MP3 player in for music in games.
Live, generally.
Live Arcade
Backwards compatible. (Mostly)
No messing around with Memory Cards (unless you buy a Core pack... my tip.. don't buy a Core Pack)
Oh and Geometry Wars!!
Remember, don't be a Core-Tard!
Costume hippy, live and let live, peace and love for all, man!

| I bought mine a few months back and love it. I got dead rising, call of duty three, gears of war, saints row and oblivion (oblivion RULES) The graphics are incredible. its compatibility with any form of computer is amazing, simple plug in and play with ipods, overall a very nice bit of kit. Only downside is there still arent many great games on it. Although in the pipe line are, halo 3, halo wars, army of two, bioshock to name a few and all of these looks incredible. also watch out for assasins creed
Wulve- Ealdorman of The Gotlanda, Paladin of the White Lions. Slowly more eductaed feral nutjob

Wait for the Xbox 360 Elite to come out to be honest. Supposedly the same price as a premium console, comes in sexy black, 120 GB hard drive and runs HDMI.
Also, invest in Gears Of War, its worth it just for the wow factor, plus its an awesome game.
It probably helps if you have a massive HD TV.
Oooh, and surround sound! And a wireless broadband hub.
And its gonna cost you monthly if you want to run the internet through it....

Buy it but make sure you have a Hi Def TV as this makes it so much better. You'll just sit and watch the trailers just for the amazing graphics You can also then add the HD DVD player for a fractor of the price of a separate unit and remove it when you don't want it attached and taking up room. With Halo 3 hitting the 360 soon, you won't be able to resist! Enjoy!
