Hi folks,

As well as the two events we have already booked for next year, we'd like to do a third, some time in August.  Basing this on prognostication and the game dates from previous years, we are aiming not to clash with Bladelands, Eos, Maelstrom (or Crusades).  As my signature might suggest, this is because I will more than likely be at each of these events, as will varying combinations of the rest of the Design Team.  And we know lots of you lovely people will too, and we'd like as many people as possible to be at our events ;-)

So, two things.  Firstly, which weekend would you prefer?  Bladelands will likely be on the Bank Holiday, hence that's out, and we'd like to avoid two events back-to-back if we can, so the weekend before isn't an option either.  But otherwise, which of the two weekends remaining would you prefer, if we get a choice?  And where would you recommend, site-wise?

Joe

Haven't voted, since I know you've already avoided Mael, and my other (non-larp) event for the year hasn't announced a date yet. So no preference! But WOO three events!!

Well, I mean, I assume we've avoided 'Strom, but I guess Matt could go crazy and totally reschedule his game next year.  Which would give me The Sadness, for sure.

I don't want folks to get too excited about a possible August event, because it really may not happen (even if we don't clash with any of the systems we want to avoid, competition for sites in August is fierce).  But I'd love to be able to make up for not running a second event this year.

you can make it up to us by running many one day group events? Faction outings if you like?

Oooh, faction outings could work. Linear sites are probably easier to get than weekend sites. I shall talk to the Team!

Ah yeah, course. Perhaps you could wait till a bit later into the year when the big events have announced dates? Or would that be too late?

If not, despite my preference for open-plan over linnear, the idea for faction outings could be good. I did really really enjoy the mini 'set-pieces' from last event after all..

The Orcs go for a picnic one sunny day... AND THEN A BEAR ATTACKS! The Orcs have a magnificent picnic of roast bear sandwiches. Of course Sarj is contractually obliged to be taken down in the fight, only to be healed up... again

I feel obliged to remind you that bears can fly and breathe fire.  This isn't an Insurrection thing, this is actual zoological fact.  The boring ones that just fish and stuff are juveniles who haven't yet fully matured.  Seriously.

*grin*

In other news, it seems unlikely that we'll get to do an August event as we wouldn't want to clash with Odyssey and that looks likely to be one of these two weekends.  And two events back-to-back do not a happy Joe make.

Of course bears can breathe fire, how did you think we were planning to roast it?

I didn't realise Odyssey was then, good job they wont be clashing, I'd hate to mix up my costume and turn up to Insurrection wearing nothing but gold body paint and holding a tray of peeled grapes. Though I suppose that would make me some kind of demigod...
