| Just wanted to say thanks to everyone at eos this was my second time to a larp event and my first time at EOS i absolutly loved it and will definatly be back next year. Highs Getting killed in the first two hours by Drax and then eaten Making a character in the last hour and getting to run round like a lunatic trying to heal all the bleeders Loved the setting scary blue smoke (even if it did have me coughing and spluttering everywhere) The sense of atmosphere on sat night as we fought in the graveyard the constant fear of attacks in the dark. Lows Our group not exactly working out as we had planned (7 dead out of 9 characters) and i think quite a few people want the last two dead That dammed hill

| I have to say, second time on that site and the hill felt a lot smaller and less intimidating to run up and down. This was a great event and a great end to the character, and the the Winterborn in general. I should appologise for get people to ruin everything on the sunday, but I thoroughly enjoyed it

Thanks for fun (if brief) times on the saturday, due to my being Old I decided to call it quits on saturday evening after seeing a bunch of nutters going up that hill to fight, so didn't see any of the action. Thankfully I think, as i've pulled my back and shoulder from coming down the hill in the daylight earlier on, so am now propped up in bed. Will try to put my thoughts down for the winter look at the rules, thanks for the team who have already looked at making Evokers a bit more useful, although the whole "sitting about waiting for my will to return" is starting to become horribly bothersome and ruining the gameplay rather a lot. 6 hours of roleplay, but two hours plus of that was praying for will, not my most exciting experience, incredibly difficult for a player who is literally "on his own." Seemed rather too much "we have no idea what we are supposed to do" going on, but then mid-game i'd have expected that. Kit standard still great, glad I could bimble along for a bit. See you all next year maybe.

| I have to agree had a great event and it ws a good one to die at. Trying to save the world. Highs: Insisting on being involved even though I couldnt fight because damn it it was inportant!! Scouting with the deniel in the realm of the dead on saturday night and "What is that noise?" "Can we loose the jingling?" "Sorry I'm trying to get rid of them..." My grand prophecy getting out to certain players and my note book of previous prophecies still being in play. Good luck with the translating -it shouldnt be too hard. Dying helping the fighters up the mini hill. (Wish I could have seen the rections to all the deaths on the hill but I was looking for my discarded jingles and trying not to be mistaken for another monster) Plans for collborative summoning- really enjoyed meeting you! Scrying Manius, Circe and Quenn - good RP with them Doing readings for people The Archon upsetting my cards again! Even after the scientific shuffle. * Lows: Ouchy corsetry Dying (naturally) not getting to do much on sunday * Probably going to crew next Jaelle. x
Due to the current economic climate the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off. Sorry for the inconvenience.

| Over the last couple of years, I've come to view EOS as the prime example of a high quality, atmospheric and involving live roleplay experience and this event has been no exception. After suffering from a bit of LRP burn-out recently, this event has dragged me kicking and screaming back 'into the zone'. I can barely move today (surely the sign of a good event) and through the aching muscles I'm left with a huge grin on my face and a constant need to say "That was AWESOME" So, good and bad: Good: I really like the site. I love the fact that it is folded into a valley around a central flat area. It feels enclosed and scary - as if threats could come out of nowhere - at the bottom and like you're at the roof the world when you're at the top. The combination of hill and plate armour was absolutely killing me, but it made the prospect of going out into that horrid deathtrap filled with monsters all the more terrifying. The system - good lord, the thing that made me come to EOS initially was reading the summonation/necromancy spell lists and thinking "they let you do WHAT?". Summons and general 'stuff out there' are interesting and mysterious and fun to interact with. Worldplot is made entirely of win. The monsters. Christ, even one of those guys is absolutely terrifying to face. Three at once is nightmarish. I was geniunely afraid to step more than a couple of metres away from anyone else. Deciding, entirely straight-faced, that we were going to 'storm the gates of hell' and fight the enemy on their own terms in their own home. Stepping down off that hill into a valley filled with that eerie blue haze and blood-curding screams, seeing the silhouettes of the enemy in front of us. Seeing what appeared to be the 'king' of the metal-headed demons silhouetted against the fog and somewhere in the back of my mind going 'oh god, it's pyramid head!' A quick nod and a whisper of "We're going to die now, aren't we?" to the person standing beside, and the superb knife-edge scrap that followed. Geniunely not knowing if we were going to walk away from that place alive... Getting back to our rally point having just managed to escape with several losses and being told we needed to go out AGAIN right back to the top of the hill. Looking at our bloodied and exhausted comrades and almost being too afraid to go. Ruke's return the next day. "Why *are* the druids standing with their back to the person who just came back from the dead covered in blood, while all the heavily armed people are on the other side to her, while they're putting the stones back ON the altar again at her recommendation despite the fact that we know what's going to happen?" Making a shield wall out of EVERYONE at the end of the event and finally getting to see how all the different races/skills combine together into a fighting unit. Shiny! Watching someone make a pact with a demon in order to do something we'd failed to do the night before and suddenly realising that SOMEONE WAS MAKING A PACT WITH A DEMON IN FRONT OF US, suppressing the OH GOD OH GOD KILL IT! reflex. The Bad: Our own damned fault for being too eager and something that couldn't be helped, but we did end up standing around a little too long waiting for the conjunction to occur with a biting cold wind. The hill is awesome as a set-piece, but the 'front' side is really really bad to fight on. Roots in the dark were a disaster waiting to happen and I'm surprised we didn't have an incident earlier. I know one of the crew for this event who came along at the last minute mentioned getting a little bored at points. This may simply be a case of unrealistic expectations, however. All in all, a cracking event. I'm eagerly awaiting what comes next!

Martin (9/28/2009)
theshoveller (9/28/2009) especially the people who delight in breaking Manius.
Does that include impromptu wrestling matches on a hill with the kindest monster in the universe ?
As Zubrakka might have put it, it's all about cuddles in the dark.
I have been remiss: specific kudos to Circe (T) for philosophical crisis, making Mystweaver jealous and having my back the entire event; the Winterborn ladies for patiently trying to explain Eos metaphysics to Manius (for whom, now, the plot makes vastly more sense than at any event previously); Asha for joining in Artem's effort to marry Manius to anything that moves; Yawning Bear for avuncular advice and a special, special thank you to anyone who promised to take part in my research.
-- -- --
Eos: Manius Shard. Green and gold shiny healy thing.
Shadow Wars: Johnny Hyper, Hack the Planet!
Odyssey: Was Prince Ramekhet IV, of the line of Nectanebo etc etc; now Quintus Antoninus, sentimental fool err... philosopher of Rome.

Omg... just OMG....
Jarn's swansong of an event. He died as he was born: screaming, bloodied and alone. Lying there bleeding out with the Sley around chanting the RP was so intense I was *thinking* Jarn's last thoughts. B'stard Metalhead finally got him after all these years. So intense...
Too many good points to list. Even the wait at the top of the hill for an hour led to incredibly intense RP as everyone started to doubt themselves. Bit cold though just standing about but then I didn't bring my cloak.
The infighting over the new Orcs also resulted in awesome RP. You Broodies are the best!
Wayward Wolf's reaction to Jarn calling her "Wolf" was priceless. That was meant as a compliment, but if she insists on the longer name...
The Rangers and their soft spot for Jarn meant that he had some rather "loyal" thoughts which were previously alien to any non-Brood or Orcus.
The tense hourlong defence of the hilltop waiting for the stones to appear (which never happened). Nerves fraying, infighting and Jarn's eventual boredom led him to go down the hill *just as the flashbang went off behind him* at the bottom of the hill. I ran, because Jarn isn't stupid enough to be at the epicentre of something BIG when it goes off. ;D
Stunned chips and booze consumption. Thanks to those concerned for keeping me "stunned" so I could get some nosh and cider in me.
Bawling out into the darkness at the screaming (which was bloody effective at the "if I wasn't an Orc I'd fill my trousers" level).
Broghja and her stumbling over the words she said to Jarn. "So let me get this straight; you were lonely and you sought me out? No? What's that's what you just said...*wink*", "You're a cocky b'stard aren't you.", "That's because I know you want me".
The crew. You lot are EPIC (because I need a word bigger and better than Awesome). The NPCs you played were astounding, the monsters were terrifying and the food was brilliant (the few times I actually remembered to eat).
Thankfully few bad points, but they were nothing that could have been altered. Finding the death of my favourite ever character quite hard right now. I got a little drunk on the saturday night and a little emo about it. Still feeling a bit of a hole as if a little piece of me died out there. Jarn died a fitting death, and a good death from an RP POV (rather ignoble, alone, and ingloriously) which was entirely his own doing. Metalhead IS terrifying. Thank you Ebs for being Epic Emo Support since then.
The other bad point is coming up with a character concept I'm as enthusiastic over as Jarn. I'm an Orcus, through and through. Still, there's at least 6 months until the next one.

| Its the running joke in the rangers, 2 years ago who would have thought a rabid bunch of orcs would be our buddies. Jarn was a proper epic character mate, i wont tell you not to be sad he's gone cause thats just not how it works. I will say that LRP is full of mediocraty but occationally everything comes together and you get the chance to act in the role of a true hero at least for a while. Jarn was one of those times. Enjoy it and rembember that everyone one who was at EOS these last few years has seen the bar raised.

| I too know your pain, Narla dying on friday night was weird, though doing it over would still do the same and although I started my new character felt a bit outside it all, it wasn't the loss of skills but the character itself, the interaction and roleplay that I had had with everyone over the last couple of years. Jarn was an epic character that everyone knew, even if he didn't know them and he will be sorely missed, but thats the thing with epic characters they are played by epic people and whatever you go on to play will make its mark on EOS just as Jarn did. luv and hugs Pam
