Brains are melty and tired and borked and stuff. A smashing weekend in all, very glad I booked afterall.

Share yer highlights and thoughts on the event, so that we may jabber in a rabid fashion that encourages thingy. Yes, thingy. Make of that what you will.

Personal Awesomes:

The newbie group were cool kids, and believable troglodyte types. Koar approves of shouting !

Being rescued by one of the Rangers after some bugger rolled me into a bramble patch. Thanks again pal, I owe you an ale.

Despite a skeleton crew, the encounters, effects, and general blanket of fear was awesome even from the enemy perspective.

Psyching out shield walls is fun.

Impromptu cannibalism.

"It's alright - if he explodes he'll come back later."

Mr. Doug is a super hero; the in-flight entertainment was good. Thanks Mr. Doug.

*UPDATE*

Brains have recovered. Knees burn. Post-event enthusiasm is rabid.

Thankyou to everyone who attended this weekend, you all make EOS the most socially comfortable LRP to be at, and often the most insane adventure one can have with rubber plonkers.

I had a great time, all very happy.

Some brilliant and very emotive stuff with the lovely mist walker tribe. Just sorry that i didnt really get to do much with the other groups so much (i secretly have Orc envy...)

Good points for me

So many twists in the plot, emotive endings, splatting a certain human that had been hurting the raven, the kitchen/bar staff for working so hard to feed and water me, esepcially keep me healthy as a LOT was done very quickly when the issues arrised. Very professional and reassuring guys!

Bad points for me

I couldnt get there till saturday morning, and to do that i had to get up at 6.30am

Bleh Factor:
- Hill from hell. It hates scouty types. It hates me and my armour. It hates the world. It hates Pam's ankle. It is EBIL.
- The feeling that we couldn't have won that one <= I know we could have, I just can't shake the feeling away. Please bear with me while I sleep on it and get back to you.

Wow! Factor
- Walking down the hill at the time of the Conjunction and seeing the clearing filled with smoke and lit blue. It literally sent shivers down my spine as we entered the land of the Wendigos (Wayward Wolf is now convinced of this)
- Having a screaming argument with Drax. Pete thank you! That was fantastic.
- The naming ceremony: Welcome Mischievous mouse
- Going off in the woods with Speakers to find the sapling and surprisingly managing out alive
- Much emo. I'd only broken down like that IC once before.
- Curses and various other summoned protections
- Malek's belief that every time he turns his back, Wayward Wolf will fall on the floor dead
- The Rangers, much excellent RP and much campfire giggles. Thank you guys, you're really fab!
- Yawning Bear, for coping with his two fanatic children - No wonder the poor elf has lost all his hair
- Myst Dancer, for being so completely crazy she drives everyone else nuts
- The Twins, for being a beacon of hope in a world of gloom and doom.
- Questing Owl, for being the voice of reason when the only thing Wayward Wolf wants to do is bite and kill.
- Chris' Gumalan character (whose name I pitifully forgot). A glorious death Mr Cat, the Deniel will remember your name (I'll make enquiries)

OOC WOW:
- Laptop horror in God didn't prevent the event to run smoothly. I think the GOD team rocks. So a great thank you to them all!
- A rocking monster crew that kept going again and again and never stopped scaring us [redacted]less
- The best showers at a scout camp EVAR.

Hmm,

I have, over the last 18 months, become ambivalent toward larp and have been harbouring the feeling that I put my keen somewhere and couldn't find it.

I have found my keen, and it now has a name - EOS.

Hi all

I had a good time again but ive come to expect that at EOS

Good bits
Looking vaguely competent (allegedly)
Figuring the plot out early on
Getting to intimate i told you so
The awesomely emotive self sacrifice of Chris' character (trust me on this ive lost characters to all kinds of idiocy, and going out like he did sticks in memory, if your reading this that was fantastic and i will be telling tales of that ic for a long time, plus i got in some hot water for letting an UNDEAD Gumalan swear a rangers oath lol. If you ever fancy playing a ranger you clearly have the stones to do so. so give me a shout. top notch RP)
Coming round the corner with "team suicide" and seeing that blue lit smoke covered hill and actually being scared.(amazing mood setting hicks with stick well done)
Then having to play the hill on legendary difficulty (thanks alan3) with only a dagger in my off hand that stabs anyone who gets close.
Sitting dejectedly in the bar with Drax being taunted by fellow rangers (ah well id have taunted them to be fair)
Getting our proper battle on on sunday that went very well event though we couldn't quite repair all the damage that had been done (we got 1 of 5 in the end)
Knowing exactly what needs to be done now and being determined that the next time we go to gladebrook will be our last (i am finishing that god damn level if it kills me !)
Emotive role play
Seat if pants actions
Me and Al shooting our first strikedown bolts at some one (them actually taking the call, cant say it went that way all weekend but take what you can get i say) and having the guy next to us say bloody hell thats amazing !
Trying something new Alan didn't appear to have thought of yet, and it working (recovering someone else's will for them by faith)
Getting to play with Alan w again, its been a few years due to circumstance and it was great.(please know that character spot is open to you permanently in the rangers)

Bad bits
The loss of all of the long standing characters, there are to many to name but losing Narla and Jarn in one event is an absolute wounder
Worrying about Jen at the end get well soon hun
That retarded fight at the top of the hill in the pitch black and the resulting injures
Hearing there might only be 2 events next year (whilst i full understand i don't have to like it)

All in all that event was great. It had emotive driven story, loss, action, fear and joy. Please take the formula you used for this event as in my opinion a resounding success.

Ok im spent

Twas my first event, and did not know what to expect. I still dont know what to expect, but I know it will be awesome!

Good points:
- Getting to know an awesome group of larpers
- Always having something to do
- Getting healed by coalition Druid (this is an experience in itself!)
- Having suicidal phil with my group to get us straight in on the plot ( i doubt id have known what was going on without him going mental)
- entertaining people with our infighting (no me and phil didn't hurt ourselves in that wrestling match)
- jumping at shadows incase it was a sley - those things were scary!)

Bad points:
- im sure we will hear this a alot but, THAT DAMN HILL! my calves and feet are still killing me! lol
- losing so many of my starting group (we started with 7, and despite 2 coming back to the group with new characters we are down to 2)
- taking so long to get into character, though I blame this on bad prep on our behalf

All in all a brilliant experience, and look forward to seeing how long i can survive in this brutal world!

Does that include impromptu wrestling matches on a hill with the kindest monster in the universe ?
