Group name: The Sephirot
Culture/affiliation: Mayan Dragon and Dracoscions
OOC contact name and email: Helen W, theoxfordgirl at googlemail dot com
Approximate size: Ideally, minimum eight PCs. Capacity to grow up to 20-35. Currently eight definite players (including the dragon) and several strong "maybes".
Concept blurb: A young, mobile Mayan Dragon and his dracoscion retinue. Internecine strife and Byzantine politicking among the 'Scions will be vicious and constant, with a great deal of henching and minioning for the Dragon. We will certainly be dabbling our nasty little claws in the religion and research games, and almost certainly anything else that takes our fancy. Each Scion will have a well-defined role and IC responsibilities, with zero OC consequences and heavy IC consequences for IC failure. Stabbing your OC mates in the back to gain a little IC political capital will be not only tolerated but encouraged.

Colour scheme will be black-and-silver, and we can provide you with masks, tabards, sashes and group weapons at low prices (or free loan) if you're interested in joining us.

There will be exciting FOIP. There will be backplot. There will a pretty large amount of flexible room for playing many different types of character, as long as you stick within the limits of Dracoscion or Mayan Human devoted to the Dragon; combat, magic, religion, trading, talking, sneaking, buttling...

There may or may not be quiet attempts to break the Deity Team as badly as we did at Event 2.

There will be chess, wine and tea. And there most certainly be moist, delicious cake.

This group will be entering play in September (Event 4). If you're interested in joining us then, fabulous; drop us a line and we'll get to frothing.

If you're unable to join us at Event 4 but still interested in a later date, please do get in touch anyway - we have several methods by which Dracoscions can join the group in play.

Group name: Apple Cartel
Culture/affiliation: Independent (Since Greenfield Shores Kicked us out)
OOC contact name and email: Mark Longhurst. PM me on here or e-mail mark(at)dark-temple.co.uk
Approximate size: Currently 6-8 of us, in theory we can use as many as we can get.
Concept blurb: We are an independent trade house rebuilding after various recent setbacks. We have all sorts of interesting things simmering in the background, mostly fallout from the actions of our previous Archon who managed to get himself killed off…
Also, we have a reputation for being one of the dodgiest tradehouses around, which we fully intend to live up to in the future
We can find uses for pretty much anyone, with any skill set, although combat types would be particularly useful at the moment…
All races and cultures are welcome, please note, however that WE WILL HAVE NO DEALINGS WITH FALLEN EIDOLONS!

Group name Tribe Ulathaa

Culture/affiliation Ononthakan Tribe - Native (see concept notes)

OOC contact name and email Andrew Rogers, email darkana9 @ yahoo.com

Approximate size 2 active. 1 possible new player, a few if i die, a few ooh maybe

Concept blurb -A native snake tribe.  Played colony? trade house? church? looking for something to be a radical change? try the snakes, its a different experience and with some ideas for setting the tribe apart this one will be different again

basically thoughts came about for lets have a new ophid tribe with some different cultures and have a starting concept so that people who want to come and try the native game can come in at the ground level, Colour scheme is suggested brown base with green scales but tribe has many adopted members allowing a range of snake makeup / prosthetics / masks such as to suit your skin problems and personal preferences, tribe power structure will be intended to be a strict gender equality in that responsibility is shared between IC married snakes so perfectly happy to have both men and women join and help make the ophidians more vibrant with more tribal interplay and the ability to forge our own connections and relations with colonials from a fresh starting point,

Although to be a full member of the tribe means being a snake there is a limited capacity for awakened (dryad or facet not golem) though this will require extra discussion and work on details and ophidians are both preferred and strongly recomended

Currently there is a position available directly in the power structure if a player of the female variety (no cross dressing men, seriously it never works) to play the mate of the Tain thus being the joint IC leader of the tribe with equal authority over the tribe where most decisions would be privatly agreed between the two of us but if time presses either can just make a snap call, though i will be the listed group leader and am the ooc contact,

There are some fun plans for tribe traditions, and some plans will allow FOIP and when FOIP happens it will make people go huh? wtf? and oooh

There will be faith and interplay of faiths internally as the group is intended from its creation to include all the native faiths rather than being full of a single one

Give something new a go, help make a new lasting impression and a fresh face in the native game, serious applicants are welcome to discuss by email character plans to help with character creation, integration and history and it will be encouraged to put at least one point towards something useful to the tribe as a whole if possible

For those in the know, I've set up a yahoogroup for the dragon concept group I've been talking about for 'when Aticus dies and I've got the kit ready'.
It's still at the discussion stage, so no open invites at the moment - but if I've talked to you about it you're welcome to join the group. Send me a PM or email and I'll sign you up to the group.

Oh, still on course for a Event 1 kick off if we have the numbers.

Group name: Novak's Traveling Carnival in The New World
Allegiance = No Allegiance
Loyalty = Independent
Group Contact = Mike Dymond

Dont have Mikes email ATM but here is mine: (Sam) ihateporkpies@hotmail.co.uk

Basically, the Novaks are gypsies, roaming both land and sea in 'family' groups. Were a big bunch of Circus Entertainers/Traders/Gladiators/Musicians/Dancers etc... can you play an instrument, dance, sing? or failing that can you stage fight, tell bad jokes, juggle or just be an extra? basically anything that is vaugely carnival related is good! We have about 30 to 45 people in the carnival ATm and numbers vary between that... the strange thing is were getting bigger every event!

Secondarys are also welcome. We've had a few people that wear huge suits or makeup rigs during the day and just want to relax and have fun and take part in the shows we put on in the evenings and can bring some form of entertainment skill with with them. you dont have to be some amazing acrobat to join just as long as your willing to join in with the shows in the evenings and help out.
A great bunch of people with everything from old LARP vets to new players a fantastic bunch of RP'ers and most importantly people that want to enjoy the game and have fun!

Look:
Costume-wise the different nations vary so you can get away with most looks that, again, aren't jarringly Modern. If you're a born Novak then you'll either be Malathian or Fidelian in origin so C18th piratical is a good look or even C19th showman, as is Russian peasant. Novak first names tend to be either Irish or Russian depending on whether you were born in Malathia or Fidelia. However, the Novak's "recruit" all sorts, being pretty much blind to race, gender and background so most things are acceptable. Bear in mind here that once part of the family you can be form anywhere (ie not born a novak) and still hold the name of Novak if you join the family.

History:
The origins of the group lie in the coastal water of Malathia and Fidelia. Two families, one from each of these nations, have spent many years trading and interacting with one another, always operating slightly outside of the normal cultural constraints. They also had similar outlooks and made money by legitimate trading and providing entertainment to whomever they encountered. Very similar to Romany Gypsy families in eastern Europe. Some time ago these two families became joined through marriage and took the single family name of Novak. The traveling/caravan/carnival aspects of the family also increased during this period. They also took in many people from different cultures who didn't feel they could be part of their original culture any more. As long as they added to the families activities, worked hard and didn't endanger the family no questions where asked. At some point groups of ex soldiers and mercenaries joined and this developed into organized gladiator arena fights for the entertainment of the carnival's spectators.

Knowing that the their activities and world view was at odds with many societies they made it a policy to never stay in one place for very long, instead favoring the nomadic life either as wagon trains traveling across the land or by loading the whole family onto rough and ready ships and setting up in any port that would have them. They have over the years traveled all over the Old World and have just about managed to scrape an existence together but are still very small and insignificant.

Hearing about the New World they held a meeting and decided to risk everything by uprooting and moving the entire carnival across the Maelstrom with the intention of making a new life, never to return. All the families resources where pooled, a huge loan was obtained from the Sacuza Trading House and used to purchase a Mallathian Corsair that could carry the entire family and all our equipment. It would not be flying any traditional colours and instead would fly the flag of the Novak Traveling Carnival, a ships wheel representing the helm of the ship that transports us from port to port but also reminding us of the wheels of the wagons that we sometimes use to travel.

We arrived in the New World early in June 1658 and we set up our carnival with the intention of making enough money to allow us to survive.

This is actually one of the driving points to our group as we have imposed a 1 ton of food per carnival member per event handicap on ourselves so we really do have to put on shows to survive.

Sam
