A fantastic event with far too many moments to mention in a brief posting.
This year saw the beginning of the last year of life for the High King of the free races. Next Outlore will see him fall in battle against Balor or be sacrificed to the land. Assuming he lives that long.
The free races had to be more organised in our fighting than ever before and the ebb and flow of the politics between the clans always gave our discussions of tactics a bit of an edge. I was offerered so much hospitality I had to go and lie down for a bit so I could eat some more.
The in-character village was magical as always and provided a perfect venue to celebrate Beltane with singing, dancing and tales of adventure.
They made me feel that I was caught up in one of the Celtic myths with all its grim forebodings and moments of bizarre insanity - the moment when we almost turned on each other and we were stopped by the speech of one lone druid was very disturbing- the appearance of the emissary of the mouse king was so funny I couldn't stand for laughing.
More toilets this year made for a more enjoyable portaloo experience and an enhanced ref team seemed to make things flow along very nicely.
Downsides - I'm getting older and slower and the crew are getting younger and fitter so I need to train more to stay ahead.
Dumnnoni is for me the blue riband event of UK roleplaying and is only surpassed by the occasional one off games. Try it before you give up roleplaying.
