Hello!

Newcomer alert - having watched Nighwatch at the cinema some time ago, I was surprised to briefly see the DVD for Daywatch in my local supermarket.

Has anyone seen it?  Any good is it?

Felt a it disappointed by the ending of Nightwatch... Guess I wanted something more unpredictable to happen, but directors have to think about that their target audiences and what will sell a movie!

Hi dude!

I've not seen either of the movies, but I always use Rotten Tomatoes to check up on what's worth watching

I loved Daywatch in the cinema, and I think the Director's Cut DVD version is even better.  I know someone who hated it, though, and I've heard some people complain that the ending is a bit twee (which it sort of is, but the fairy-tale vibe of the series makes it seem appropriate).

I'm looking forward to what he does with the Twlight Watch tbh! P.s The books are ace if you get chance to buy/read them - I think you can pick um up in WH Smith these days.

One of the major problems Day Watch has had in the UK as far as I am concerned is the simple lack of knowledge about it. Nightwatch was piss poorly released in the UK and consquently people have no idea what its all about.

Nightwatch was definately a very low-key release.  I only found it through looking at trailers on Apple website.

I really liked the mythology of this story, and the fear of going 'between' for too long.  I also liked the stylish use of subtitles, which melded with the film and contributed to the quirky nature of it.

Aye if you watch it, definately got to be the Russian version with subs. The Dubed version to makes me want to cry with pain!

The dubbed version also does cute things with the sub-titles. i.e. in Nightwatch, Anton is talking to the Vampires. All the Vampires words come up in red then slowly fade out. E-mails are "typed" up on the screen. Just a nice touch

The books are really very good, and in my opinion quite a lot better than the movies. Thats not to say that the movies are bad, just that the books are better.

We liked them so much, we've just started doing a LRP based on them

I got most of the way through Nightwatch (the book) and felt it was a little slow, did anyone else find this? Does it get better? Is it worth another look?

The night and day watch movies are slow, if your expecting non stop action like the two blade films then look elsewhere.

Daywatch was ok, just dont expect too much
