Typical, so she's only able to properly say that he's gay after the fact, that's rubbish. Also he has a bad relationship, never tries again, buries himself in his work and then dies. As it's well known that nothing good every comes of being gay *gahhhhhhhhhhh*

That said, the response from American fundie nutcases has been hilarious to say the least.

"See, we told you Harry Potter was EVIL!"

I'll bite...

The fact that he was gay was completely irrelevant to the story - so why should it have come up? And there's no information either way on his more recent private life, wo why jump to conclusions?

I cant understand all the fuss, its not like there are not fan fics about this sort of thing.
Or people making Porn parodie titles and making up the storyline.

That said, i cant help but remember Dawn French as Harry Potter for Comic releief oh so many years ago at the sound of a gay dumbeldore.

Edit: Sorry but ive just noticed:

But I am disappointed that she did not make Dumbledore's sexuality explicit in the Harry Potter book. Making it obvious would have sent a much more powerful message of understanding and acceptance."

the hell? why would it have to be poitned out? what difference would it make? i thought the idea was to be equal, not have the fact pointed out so your made out to be a target. *sigh* i dont think society really gives a dam about being gay or straight these days. Individuals might but i dont think most of them are brave enough to shout it out and face a public glaring!

I dont know it just strikes me as being a sad advertising ploy to sell more books, I just feel its a shame that they just cant leave alone
