I have tried loads of websites and looked around but cant seem to find anyone who is selling repro uniforms. I am especially looking for British Army but any kind would do. If you know of a maker or a site or if you could go about making one yourself then drop me a private message on here or reply to the thread

Thanks

They are expensive, but good. Looks authentic to me.

There is a guy that attends Maelstrom that has a French Hussar Uniform - speak to him.  I know the Mill-en Army Uniforms were handmade by the players, so you also might get tips from them.

I would suggest "Warwear" but they have died a death.

Your best bet is to try to contact re-enactment groups, as they will know people. Plus then you have the added bonus of knowing that you are getting it from someone who is likley to have an anally retentive approach to accuracy.

Blimey, Konrad, that's a GREAT price for that quality of jacket from HCC. I asked my missus about it & she was reckoning £500+ for the jacket alone, with that amount of hand-stitched braiding...

Debbie Lough makes very good stuff, and at quite a reasonable price (I have a completely bespoke coatee which only cost £120)... however, she's not so hot on timing. Whatever deadline she gives you, add another 3-6 months.

Some dress uniforms haven't changed much since the Napoleonic wars and the real cost in those things is buttons and other trappings. You may find it's possible to get second/third hand uniforms from specialist suppliers for a decent price, if you can buy them without the buttons. There's a huge market for it in the army, since the cost of dress uniform is so high and the clothing allowance so small. It's part of the reason Guards regiments are stuffed with hooray henrys.

(Said arrangement is quite common in the army - I know a TA lieutenant who got his mess dress at a snip, then had to shell out more than twice what he paid for the uniform buying his trappings)

If you want to contact me i'll put you in touch with someone that makes bespoke jackets at a reasonable price, actually delivering what they say they will do as well, would you believe.  My jacket for Maelstrom was made to measure, full input into the design process, buttons, cut etc.   Fits like a glove and i'm not the easiest shape - absolutely spot on.  Basic jacket comes from a number of patterns of historical jackets, measured the way it should be done.  Then tailored on the top and turned into whatever you want.
