If you wanted just a basic (and cheap) scenario you could go for a shipwrecked theme. Players wouldn’t have to supply huge amounts of kit because of the ‘it’s lost at sea’ excuse. The Aliens could have been confined to the island? A chance to add in a Ben Gunn type survivor that knows how to avoid the Aliens? A chance to mix up social groups, Lords and Ladies/ Practical Sailors.

Just chucking out ideas…………

I'm not sure if you know this but Trez and the Brighton crew run a game called "Dark Times" a nice 14th Century period horror/mystery sort of game. Great fun.

Anyway, the site they used was a large thatched cottage that was turned into a hostel. The interior looks quite authentic (Bunks for 12?, a full kitchen and toilets) and might pass for a summer-house or hunting lodge of some sort. The surrounding area is sparsely inhabited and rural. Big drawback, down near the South coast, so not easily reached. So if somebody does consider resurecting this game, might want to consider it.

Gods I want to run this. I've got some many ideas for games, and for the general sweep of the campaign (moving from Regency through to full-blown Steampunk), and for rules (low body hit, high casualties, lots of swooning), and YES. It would be so much fun!

Then run it sir!

I beleive there may be some taggers out there that have the kit for the Aliens kicking around. Taggers are a lovely bunch who would probably be happy to lone out kit.

As is always the case because I'm lazy - you run it, I'll play it

All terms used above, including crew, monster, team, ref, referee, game, win, lose, larp, lrp, player, character, death, good, bad, rubbish, awesome and odorous are used subjectively. That is to say I have no idea what I'm on about.

I was wondering if Fort Amhurst (that LARPMedway) use might be a good site. Napoleonic fort with tunnels, insurance in the site hire, about eight quid a head (apparently), site hire based on numbers not a flat fee. In door bits if it rains and stuff.

Just thinking aloud that’s all.

Please. Please run it. I've missed 2 events this year which means I have 2 events available in my "LRP weekend budget".

I'd really be looking for somewhere with a hall. I've got this image of a country ball being invaded by Aliens, and so I need a space to have people in posh frocks dancing!

Considering Willesely Scout Campsite, actually. It's got two buildings, the Cabin and the Gatehouse. So one could be OOC sleeping and the other the ballroom. Throw in a load of tents for the military players, and you're getting close to how I imagine it.

And Willesely is dead central, Leicestershire.

Hmm. Two nights means site costs of about £200. If I could find Alien costumes for cheap, this would be possible. Plus insurance, of course. Make tickets cheap, any excess money goes on providing nibbles at the ball...

Who are these Taggers of which you speak?
