This is not only very trivial but also merely my humble opinion.
I find that there's far too much cellpadding in the thread and post titles (i.e. they are vertically spaced out too much). This means that it's a really long scroll down to see the other stuff (I actually didn't notice it was there at all at first!)
Two solutions:
1. Tinker with the stylesheet and reduce the cellpadding and/or fontsize. EDIT (the message icon size is probably the limiting factor so you could also reduce the icon sizes).
2. Put the fora into two columns (tricky).

| Daisy, The forum is actually completely skinnable. We're looking at developing custom skins in the medium term. Obviously what we have at the moment is the default. Both James and I aren't inclined towards botching together another option in the short term, so the "look" will have to wait a little while whilst other features bed down. But thanks for your point, I'll make sure we address it when we look at the skins.

Allen Stroud (5/17/2006) Daisy,

Huzzah (not sure why the quote function isn't working here when it is working for the second quote: I've tried everything available, it just doesn't seem to want to do it.)

Just out of interest (I don't know InstaForum as well as I know a few of the others like /code and YaBB) are there no downloadable skins which could be imported with low workload, so that there was choice in the meantime before custom work is done? I appreciate the answer may well be 'no', as I say I don't know how big the user community for InstaForum is.

| Unlike alot of board software out there, InstantASP is a bit more commercial and the code itself is really decent enterprise grade, it's really designed for corporations to develop stuff from for their own purposes. The advantage of this is, I can use alot of libraries and things I wrote myself to integrate to it, and that we can use the Latest Microsoft Technologies to improve our service. The downside, is that configuring a skin for instantASP is a very involved and quite complex process. It not only requires custom graphics and stylesheets, but also XHTML layouts, and ASP.Net control calls, meaning that the developer has to have at least a grounding in each of these things. As such, we've alot to fix before we start developing the final skin, as its really just a cosmetic adjustment. Regarding that there quoting issue take a look at this thread: http://www.rule7.co.uk/Forums/Topic370-12-1.aspx
