Hello all,

For years I have been attending LRP events in various guises around the country and have always wanted to see many more IC tents to create more atmosphere. But - as it is with many things these tents are quite expensive. But no longer!!

A new company has been started: FBA Tent Company.

We supply New Canvas Sahara Bell Tents for £185.00 plus £18 p&p. These come with all you need to pitch and camp.

check out the website: http://www.fbatentcompany.co.uk

if you have any questions please email: sales@fbatentcompany.co.uk

Thank you,

Gunner.

Looks fab, and as the next cheapest place I've seen these sold is asking £250 + P&P then certainly the cheapest.

Any plans for stocking any other styles?

Hi there, thanks for your comments.

Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner.

The reason why they are advertised as Sahara Style is because I didn't want to infringe on any potential copyright issues.  They are treated for Water Proof and also Mould etc, they come with groundsheets as opposed to not (possible £50 in a shop for one this size),

Yes there are more expensive models out there - but in this instance it is not necessarily the case that they are better quality. It just so happens that I was fed up of having to pay top dollar for IC tents and organised a mass shipment from the manufacturers therefore lowering the cost to the purchaser.

It may interest you to know that the Sahara tent in all its glory is manufactured in India, not to far away from where my Tents are from. The main difference is in the poles design and also shade of canvas colour.

And anyway Flannel - I'm surprised at you, thought you'd support a former member of the Erin Navy in a spot of enterprise!

How are Gul and Sergeant Salt anyway? And your goodself keeping well I hope?

Gunner.

They look like they are fantastic value for money, i doubt you could buy the amount of raw materials cheaper. They look like lightweight cotton rather than canvas, we have one in calico which is good but a bit heavy. Could you check the weight and if it is cotton, because they might look lovely died with some procion or dysperese dye

Thanks Great to see someone offering a range

Hi there,

The official material statistics are: Material:100% cotton waterproof canvas 280gsm.

We attended Mayfest (after almost a decade since the last time!) and it was a rather damp affair. Driving rain and strong winds all night, I did think that it may have sprung a leak (i wouldn't have blamed it), but the only hint of water in the tent came in on the groundsheet as I hadn't tucked it in properly.

I think dying the tent is a great idea - if you ever do one send me a photo as i'd be interested to see it.

Cheers

Geoff.

Got to pitch in as a satisfied customer here.

These may be Sahara "Style" but the build quality is excelent and with the unsubtle pegs (More like stakes) and lump hammer they provide with the tents they are incredibly secure. It was great value ofr money at £185, even better at £170
