| Combat ... Dark Times ... 'Hits' Not words I thought I'd see in the same thread. Get hit once, fall over. That's what I loved about Dark Times. When a single 3/4 speed zombie made the entire playerbase pick up their skirts and run like girls. I like the floating hits concept, but iirc from the rules it was pretty much impossible to be a peasant who had armour *and* a sword?

| Dark Times is combat lite but we wanted to allow players to play more combat heavy characters if they wanted to. Whilst they're all peasant class, theres no reason that some of them werent former soldiers etc Think we just want to have a facility there for playing harder characters even though most people wont use it The rules do have it so that its pretty expensive to buy much, but people do loot the dead for their stuff.

| Have finished off the combat. Its pretty much the same as above but Rather than losing a Life Point every minute, if you get knocked to Critical then you lose 1 Life Point and start a 5 minute countdown. If you get to 0 you're dead. If you're patched up before then you can get up but your Life Point is still gone. So if you're knocked down to Critical too many times you die anyway. Should make it a bit easier Worked out that the "average" character will probably have 1 to 3 hits before they start taking damage. We just wanted to bring in more possibility for combat so that the people who want to see a bit of action can without the fear of spending the rest of the event bedbound with their wounds
