Maybe get some ex-character names and use those. Thereby keeping your character creation alive.

She made the final decision in the end, and I went with Loki (even though its a she).

I tried a few names and she seems to respond to Loki, and has developed into a mischievious little thing since I got her, so it fits quite well

In fact I was sat, thinking out loud what name to use, reading some from the thread and when I said Loki she jumped on the desk and sat on the keyboard, so I figured that was the one she wanted.

I need more pets now so I can use all the other great ideas in this thread

Oddly as someone spookily predicted, she is also known as "OIGERROFTHAT"!

I've just recently reserved two gorgeous little silver and blue tabby kittens. They'll be ready in a few weeks, I might dip into this thread then. Pictures to follow.

We have Lillith and Shoggoth, a.k.a. the deplorable beasts (when they tip over the bin, jump in my t-shirt drawer and dig out all the shirts, discover my newly raked and seeded flower-bed or whatever) who also answer to "Did you just feel that? I'm sure I felt something move. Are you sure you shut the cats downstairs before we went to bed?" and pretty much anything else provided there's food in it for them.

Shoggoth was so named because of his tendency to dive under the throw rug on the sofa, resulting in a formless twitching and pulsating shape.

Meet 'Bash' and 'Peep', named for their first reactions to new things, in that bash hits whatever he meets, and peep runs away and peers out from behind something, peep however is clearly a ninja in training, he goes missing, and then when im looking under the bed appears from nowhere just behind me trying to look at what ever im looking at!

My mother's cat is called "Toffee".  Its an uneven mix of browns, creams and blacks.  I think the breed is called "tortoiseshell".

Each of her sisters have one from the same litter, called "Fudge", "Caramel", "Cocoa" and "Nougat" respectively.

The cats, not her sisters, obviously.

Yep, we've had that too. Just after we started letting ours out for the first time, Shoggoth did not turn up for dinner - an unprecedented development, given that both our cats will have a good go at eating even inanimate objects. We spent an evening of searching the house, the yard and nearby roads and in the end we went to bed. The next morning the alarm clock goes off and my fiancé rolls over to hit 'sleep' and finds himself nose-to-nose with Shoggoth who had decided to come out from under the bed (where we had already looked) and demand breakfast.
That cat is l33t.

We also suspect he's been creating World of Warcraft characters on my account, though that could just be my housemate.
