I've just brought myself a bargain pair of shiny flintlocks for Maelstrom - The only problem being that they do not have pins for caps.

How easy/what cost is there is to get this done? - is there some magical place that i can take them?

Someone had probably already asked this, but i can't find the post.

TIA

Simple..

Check to see where the hammer strikes the pan and then drill small hole into pan, (find yourself some screws or a nail about the same diam as a red plastic cap (we sell them) insert nail or screw into said hole and bond in using either araldite or liquid metal.... when dry, use something like a dremel cutting tool to cut off excess nail/screw so the cap just fits on.

As you have cut off the screw/nail it should be a little rough, so you can pretty much expect NOT to have any missfires...

Did one for myslef this morning (when I should have been working !!) took 15 mins.. now I have a snazzy little deringer all done.

Bear in mind the only thing you risk is that should any of the working bits stop working in an unusually short period of time after purchase, your customer returns policy will go out the window as you have modified the product.

Having said that, anyone who buys a gun/guns wont have that issue as we will still exchange for a new one (although only ever had 2 returned when the hammer action seized up.

Good Luck

Alex

Cool - Whereabouts would I find you at the next event?

Get a small leather rivet male section. Flatten the top slightly with a hammer till it takes a cap, attach to the pan  by6 the flat rivet 'base' with no more nails.

Its a quick fix which will get you up and firing for an event... though the temporary pin does fail occassionally, but you can just scrape of the resiodue of glue and drill pin it later.

That said one of my temporary pins is still strong after three years.
