125. Throwing weapons need to be as aerodynamic as possible to fly true for safety reasons. Check your throwing weapon is properly aerodynamic by ensuring it is smaller than your own eye socket.

126. Event organisers won’t remember your background if you send it too far in advance. Help them by sending it the day before the event, or better still bring a hardcopy with you. An ideal hardcopy background should be in the smallest font you can find, to keep it shorter. A nifty gothic or medieval scribe font might be hard to read, but will be appreciated for adding to the atmosphere.

127. If you are a character able to commune with the Gods, remember that you are the important one, and that the God is more like a customer service representative who is there to answer any small but irritating issue that might in any way be bothering you.

128. When an event specifically asks you to bring certain items, such as an in character bowl and tankard, they are in fact simply informing you of the items they intend to provide you with themselves. If you can lose or damage the items you are borrowing, be sure to demand a replacement immediately; these are all free gifts which your presence at the event entitle you to.

129. Remember that NPC opponents are indistinguishable, no matter how much effort the crew go to in terms of background, plot or costume. Referring to a whole range of opponents by the same term such as “Gribley” will help the organisers realize how pathetic and futile their efforts to create variety really are. Remember – every referee that leaves the system in depression or disgust increases your chances to win.

130. And as we all know, interactive LRP experiences are all about Winning!

131. If you are in anyway an odd size, say quite large or VERY large, it is best to turn up to crew an event with nothing and demand something that fits. If for whatever reason nothing does, then just wrap a blanket around yourself as a cloak and wear it for the entire weekend for every encounter no matter what you are supposed to be playing. The players will be able to work out what you are by your excellent roleplay.

(You know who you are and I know it was a very long time ago but still...)

115. When faced with a 20 foot wall that is being phys rep'd by a piece of blue nylon rope lying on the ground get really shitty with anyone who simply walks over it. Get even more shitty when they use shoe laces as grapple hooks to try to climb over it. Best way of being shitty would be to shout over said twenty foot wall by bellowing over said nylon rope. In our case we ignored him as we considered we couldn't see or him him as there was a twenty foot wall in the way. Gathering '95 you had to be there.

Was that the same year I was using a 10" long belaying pin as a phys rep for a 20' long pole-vault, and pole-vaulting over the blue nylon string? I can remember having lots of fun that year.

You are big enough to play an ogre

You are slim and lithe enough to play an elf

Somehow though you are not small enough to play a dwarf.

111. If someone changes their costume they must be playing a different character.

111a: Unless they change race, group, costume, personality, speech patterns, skills and weapons fit. Then they are clearly playing the same character and should be treated as such. If they try to pretend they are playing someone else, their character is obviously just pissing around.

Gah! How much more could I have changed?

and of course- 111b: When the NPC that yours and 4 or 5 other factions have been trying to kill for 3 years is seen walking around the market alone and dressed as a 17th century soldier- instead of with 5 uber hard praetorians and his customary Romano British garb get 30-40 people to jump him- you may not get another chance!!
