I was just musing after being an event in a real castle. Would it interest people to do a real dungeon crawl.

The set-up I had imagined was the players would be camped outside the castle. They had been paid to retake it from the grandson of the owner who still held the deeds.

So its not a fully realised game world, but its not a simple linear either. Players would over the weekend have to takeover the castle section by section. It would be full of undead etc and have trapped rooms etc. So that the adventure could be returned to again and again, only a small amount could be done at any one time. There would be a list of objectives only a fraction of which could be done. Each time people came back to the castle things would have changed as the bad guys adapted to the attacks.

It's returning to the origens of D+D dungeon crawling/ LRP linears, but could be fun. Any thoughts.

I also thought of something else that suddenly became huge.

I went to an event in France I thought could be done again. (Malaterre post in the event report) The basic background is the 100 years war in France with a medeval fantasy background. This time the English have taken a castle in Normandy and are trying to subdue the area. Meanwhile those pesky french local myths are becoming all to real. Pagan and Satantic followers are at work against Gods work. The local french freedom fighters are attacking English troops around the area. And the king wants to be told everything is fine.

I had a lot more in my head but would have to plan a write up.

If I was to get LRPers from both France and England to come to Normandy wouldn't it be cool. Oh wait that would be a bi-lingual lrp...

Anyway there ends todays madness.

The recent Brainfeast game was similar to that but different 'teams' had been sent into the castle to nab the treasure rather than all working together.

Anything like this comes doen to location. If you've got the castle the rest of the game will probably write itself.

And I'd play. Imagin it 24 hr time in. Now that would be something!
