Has the forum been down for the last couple of days or is it just my work computer hicuping?

I was going to ask something similar. The site seems to have been really slow and clunky this week and either last night or this morning it seemed to have totally fallen over. ( I forget now when I last tried to check)

It's been very clunky and falling over like a tired and emotional bishop for me too. Both at home, and at work (the site, not the bishop).

If you can't beat your computer at chess, try kickboxing.

Aye it's been rubbish at my end as well. But it seems pretty perky now, if not faster than normal?

I expect James will give a more informed answer soon, but I noticed some performance difficulties and emailed him a day or so ago. Subsequently today it appears to have recovered.

I expect its to do with the reset regularities and may be a teething issue in relation to the fix he put in for the "remember me" function that so many people asked to be sorted out.

One thing I would say. I got no emails from any users in relation to bad performance or any emails in relation to anything working better etc... Could I ask that people do me the trouble of letting me know if they find the site is down?

Allen's basically hit the nail on the head, the Remember me fix is causing havoc. I will be removing it shortly until a better fix can be found.

*** EDIT ***

Have not removed the fixes for "Remember me" have made other additions and several minor tweaks, that have freed up a considerable amount of memory, we no longer buffer pages so will stream them direct from the server, and are trying a new memory model.

Hopefully these should resolve the issues.
