I have been pondering this whilst watching the 2nd series and live show. I mean, in basis it's the classic "one guy wants to be taken seriously, but his friend is incapable of taking anything seriously" double act, like Morcambe and Wise, even, but then. I dunno, there's clearly way more to it than that. Any thoughts?

They're LRPers.
Each episode is a lrp plot with added humour/weirdness and a tv budget
I was told that they did lrp in Uni. London I think.

Wen Jian (1/10/2007) I have been pondering this whilst watching the 2nd series and live show. Perhaps it's the unpleasant cognitive dissonance of watching people you've previously thought funny die repeatedly? Either I was simply kidding myself when I thought they were funny before or do they compose some sort of divine dysergy in dyad? Or perhaps it's just naff material? Marios

Doesn't cut it. I heard Prince William was going to go to the Gathering.
Plus LRP plot being conceptually derived from 'plot' in a theatrical sense, you could say that about absolutely anything. Furthermore, AFAIK they met on the live comedy circuit.
Though having said all that, I wanna see Milky Joe at the Gathering. In fact, I'd even go if he was going to be there.

Dysergy in Dyad? I'm sorry, I fail to see what Welsh mountain villages have to do with it.
Actually I like the second series more than what I've seen of the first - excepting the Charlie episode which is easily as good as anything in the 2nd series. I think the turning to themes of urban myth and psychedelia play to the strengths of their style - though I can see how they might have tended to be a bit more obvious with some of the jokes in their newer material.
