| I still haven't got over Chu Chu Rocket for the Dreamcast (yeah well, it;s not exactly old0old school but it;s still old-ish) It really does fulfill your your mindless mouse-saving needs with the added bonus of crazy music and demented graphics. Great party game, too.

| Retro Gaming? I picked up The Secret of Monkey Island off an abandonware site the other day... life is good. Installed it (and 2, which I own) and piped them through DOSBox for that authentic Guybrush Threepwood action. Might pick up the newer ones when I'm done (Curse of- and Escape from- Monkey Island), does anyone know if they are any good?

Ocelot (7/23/2006) Stunt Island!
I remember that, one of the first games I got on PC, it was great fun flying an aircraft carrier around.

| With regards to the gloriousness that is Chaos if you go here www.spectrum.lovely.net amongst a load of other old classics they have Chaos. A lot of the rest of the games run too quickly as PC's can't run slowly enough to cope with a 48K game But with Chaos the increased speed doesn't matter as it's turn based (and as a result you really can make that Ogre dance!) UFO: Enemy Unknown, http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?gameid=4966. People have been chatting about it on rpg.net and now I'm all nostalgic again .
I recently downloaded a version of that for my pda. Not a hack or anything, some guy redid all the graphics and UI from scratch. It's bloody brilliant.

The older versions of Civilisation. I wish the version I now have on my phone had just a bit more memory... Loads quicker than it did on the Megadrive though.
Only other games I hanker after are multiplayer Gauntlet (the original "elf needs food badly" arcade version) and occasionally Elite for the BBC computer... mainly because I made it to "Deadly" which is one step away from "Elite" then got a proper computer and dismantled the old BBC...
I also wish they could rerelease Daggerfall with better graphics, smaller dungeons and the bugs fixed. Morrowind was great, Oblivion rather limited with graphics for show rather than playability. I loved the scope of Daggerfall!
I would add the old Sid Meir's Pirates, but the XBox updated version that came out last year was fabulously playable, and I played it to death...

I've always wanted to play it. A simple google search revealed:

Enjoy.

| Hah! I`ve got Mega-lo-mania and the Amiga to play it on. I`ve been thinking of it lately, since I just got a new PC running XP and tried it out with a silly little game called Power Mad, that uses the same milky way backdrop as Mega-lo-mania. (Or one that looks very much like it.) I`ve downloaded Electronic Arts` Pinball series from abandonware, but can`t get them to work on the PC. (I`ve got the first two or three on the Amiga, but not all of the tables function.) A friend of mine had Bloodwych, and it always looked awful. Dungeon Master, from about the same time, still looks great. Really a classic! The same friend also had Stunt Car Racer, which could be multiplayed via a direct-link cable. He had an Amiga and a mutual friend had a STE, and the multiplayer between those machines ran flawlessly. I thoroughly enjoyed it last time I had the Amiga up and running (which is, admittedly, some years ago, but already way after I switched over to IBM compatible). Another game that friend had that I never found again but would like to try even now it`s totally obsolete, is Operation Dragonforce or Dragonfly (never remembered which it was). It was very much like Jagged Alliance 2, albeit much simpler, but was basically a realtime game. Where JA2 turns to a TBS the moment the shit hits the fan, ODF basically continued in realtime, but gave you the choice between planning ahead (pausing the game and giving each commando five commands he would then try to execute) or running under 'standing orders' (evasive, cautious, aggressive and a waypoint) that could be given to each commando individually. To any others out there that enjoyed JA2, one of my two favourite games, try to find The Bear`s Pit on Google (I don`t have the link readily available : it`s on my other computer and I only have one monitor), which is one of the last strongholds of JA-fans, where members are not only contributing JA2 Mods, but where for the sake of modders, the JA2 engine is being completely externalized, so that even the most computer illiterate gamer can build his own Mod. This hyped-up modable version is available for download and has added features like weather (and weather-effects), 'toolsets', CTH indicator, tons and tons of new weapons and equipment, extra screen resolutions, extra 'main' characters and much, much more. But the one game I would really like to replay is Master Of Magic, from the same makers as Master of Orion (some of the 'heroes' have crossed over, like the apparently immortal Mystic X) but in a fantasy setting. It is more durable than the SciFi version because MOO has the single tech-tree where MOM let`s you choose between a number of magic schools. It`s a DOS game, though, and last time I got my mits on it and tried to run it on a Windows machine, it ran painfully slow.
