| I'm looking for a full make up kit for an event organiser. Preferably a wide selection of things in it - paints, latex, derma wax, brushes, sponges and so on - all wrapped up in a nice little box. Needs to be good quality stuff and the contents need to last a good while before needing to be renewed. Ideally, I'd like to be able to order this from somewhere complete - some form of 'starters kit' style arrangement. Otherwise I suppose I could put it together myself. If the latter, what do you lot think should be in a make up kit for events? Any information - suppliers, advice on brands, requirements for a decent kit and so on are all welcomed.

Charles H Fox Ltd. www.charlesfox.co.uk or Screenface www.screenface.com Should be able to sort you out for whatever you might need. Their websites aren't the greatest in the world. There are many places where you can get the basics from but these two sites are good for those harder to find items. What you might want to put in there is quite and open ended question depending on the types of effects your going for. A good range of the basic colours in a mix of mediums would be a good start. Others will am sure have a better set than mine and I am sure be able to advise more thoroughly.

| Well heres one I found when following a link for diferent bits and pieces...... http://www.screamteam.com/newpage/makeupkit.htm Also http://www.grimas.com/ although with the grimas stuff you'd be able to buy make up as a set but you'd then need to buy the other bits you wanted. If you want a look at what I've got in my lrp make up box I can bring it by sometime for you. I've got 24 colours of grimas water based paints. A mix of good grims brushes and a load of brushes from a set in a pound shop. I've then got stubble paste which can be used for afixing glitters fake stubble etc. I've got the under make up base and the setting powder. I've also got remover cotton wool and baby wipes. I've got mastic and liquid latex for sticking on prostetics or making small scars. I've then addded all sorts of other bits and pieces to it. I've picked up all sorts of make up at car boot sales and markets. I've not got any of the waxes at never realy used them so not got round to buying any and trying them. I've got all this in a large tool box. Easy to acces and good to store and even if the persons not too heavy you can sit on it! Oh and Dave as I may be stopping lrp give me a mail and I'll see if what I've got is any good to you.

| Both useful sets of links, thanks. Keep them coming. I'll look into this in more detail once I have had the final profit figures from our last event. Probably order a set from Grimas and add to it with other things. Giving up LRP? I suppose I should go and look at your LJ and see why...

A good make-up kit (in my opinion):- Fresh Cut
- Fake blood
- Bruise Wheel
- Burn Wheel
- Dermawax
- Liquid Latex
- Foundation (for blending latex and dermawax into the skin)
- Face paint (black, white and primary colours at the very least)
- Good brushes (for the face paint)
- Okay brushes (for blood and fresh cut)
- Cheap brushes (for the latex)
- Latex sponges (for applying large blocks of colour and also for blending)
- Sculpting tool (for the dermawax, can be as simple as a pack of cocktail sticks or as fancy as an actual professional sculpting tool)
All of this is available from Charles Fox and http://www.makeupeffects.co.uk (who have an online store). The Fresh Cut and the wheels are made by Kryolan. In fact I cannot recommend Kryolan enough (the Aquacolour that Charles Fox do is theirs).
