Are there any LARPers currently at Cov Uni? Jeager's trying to set up a RP/Wargaming/LARP soc and isn't having much luck at finding people so I thought I'd put a shout out on here...

There are plenty of people who do LRP in Coventry, but who are not at Coventry Uni. Like me for example. More helpfully, there is a general meeting of LRP-types at the Whitefriars pub in Cov city centre on a Tuesday night, from about 9pm. We are usually upstairs in the winter (like now, in the room with the long table usually) and the beer garden in the summer. Everyone is welcome and there are all sorts there, including I believe some people from Cov Uni. Come along, it's fun and we are friendly - mostly. Russ P.S. If you are interested in Modern Day Horror LRP, see www.darksecrets.org.uk. Our next event is the last weekend in November and new players are welcome.

Agreed. Can I suggest maybe some posters with a non-university email as the contact. The ones with tear-off slips of paper with the email printed at the bottom worked well enough for clubs back when I was at University.
You've probably missed the Freshers Fair for this year, but worth thinking about taking a stand there in 2007. If you do, make sure you represent a range of LRP, have a good social mix on the stand if you can, and have good kit on display that wouldn't embarass the hobby...
There are definitely LRPers up there. I've seen them sparring on Sunday mornings when I've gone up there to feed the ducks.
Failing that, there are indeed quite a lot of us around Coventry who aren't part of the university, though as ever there are a lot of different views on LRP and what makes it good, and a fair number of those clash...

There's no LARP soc at Coventry Uni currently... There's one in Warwick Uni, but not Cov...
Could people at the tuesday meets mention Jeager's interested in setting one up at Cov Uni? And flyers may well be the way to go...
Sadly horror's not our thing, but good luck with the event.

| I think the society died a death while i was there, i dont know if there has been any recent incarnations of a lrp or roleplay soc, but when i was at coventry there was a roleplay soc and a large number of people did fools and heroes and other systems. Lots of cool props will get people interested, but LRP is a minority group, get some roleplayers in and dare i say card players then recruit lrpers from there. If i remember the rules you only need a president a secretary and about 5 members to start up. Anyhow good luck with setting it up
