Bought the game in Bridgend last week and it looks rather nifty... anyone here play? If so what do you think of it?

*Watches a tumbleweed go past*

It's awfully quiet at the moment... not just here but on Rule7 as a whole.

local game shop stocks it here. Looks like it had some interesting setting ideas. No idea how well the mechanics work.

Looked rather expensive on the miniature front, and seemed to have a lot of superfluous rules. Setting is nice though, and there are a few fab models, though a lot of them seem to suffer from unrealistic stylisation that always puts me off...

Not actually played it though, so interested to know what peoples' experiences have been?

It's pretty good.

The model range has that "spark of life" that GW seem to have lost, as does the game as a whole. It's fairly simple to get your head around and no more expensive than many I've seen - and a lot more worth it than some.

Check out www.warmachine.org.uk for more about it.

Ciao!

The Iron Kingdoms style background appeals to me greatly, but all of my friends "grew out" of that hobby years ago =/ ...

The only thing that would put me off playing War Machine is the wind resistance rules.

EOS - Wretch of Brood

Maelstrom- Rr'ah Kweme Akuzu

Refuge - Kaffir Al Rahim

Odyssey - Something Graecian that throws a spear probably.

LT - Something Graecian that will more than likely be plied with mixed spirits.

Yeah some guy said when firing ranged weapons you have to take into account weather and time of day.

Didn't think it was true.

Played a couple of times and found it a pleasing and effective system which was quite fast to play once you had the hang of it.

*shrugs*

The models... well... its just a system... you could use standins... you can buy the bases seperate if you really finickety...

I quite like them but they seem quite pricey and Im spending all me mini cash tracking down the last Confrontation 3.5 leads now the buggers have stopped the game.
