I've just started using firefox recently and it will not let me log into rule7 - I can log in and post on IE but not firefox. I'm not overly technically minded but can't think of a reason this shouldbe.

When I try and log in on firefox the screen appears to accept al my information (indeed tells me if I've gone wrong anywhere) but when I go back to the forums or try an post I'm not logged in.

Any ideas?

Oh the answer appears to be - walk away from the computer for 3 hours and when you come back you are logged in, hmmm some time delay

your firefox browser cache is almost certainly caching the forums prior to your login, then when the immediate cache expires, it reloads the page, and you're logged in. If you go to tools and clear private data, and clear everything. Then try a login, that may help.

I use firefox as my primary browser both at home and work, and never have the problem, so I can assure you it isnt a firefox issue by default.

It could also be problems with your ISP using some sort of proxy caching to save them on bandwidth, but you would be the first non-commercial user i'd have ever seen this sort of issue with.

Its definitely  the first time it has given me this trouble.  Now if I try to log in it follows the logging in screen with the report a post screen - I'm still not logged in though

Oh well I guess its IE for posting then

if you were using an OLD version of firefox, that might cause a problem, but as noted to other users, im a prolific firefox user, and i dont have a problem with anything.
