Ok, a few weeks ago I heard scuttlebutt about an xbox 360 game in development, specifically a shadowrun game.
Cue lots of speculation about a first person RPG a la Deus Ex, but in the shadowrun universe, lots of frothing and me actually contemplating getting a 360 just for this.
A few weeks pass, and I decide to check where the game is at, to find out that they have made an unreal tournament like, team deathmatch game with a bit of magic and a bit of cyberwear. Not only that but the basis of the game is that it is a corp against some tribals, but instead of using one of the corps we know and love, they make up brand new groups, never heard of before.
Are other people as dissapointed as I am, at this complete waste of a license?

See the retro gaming thread...
It does seem like a waste of a licence though. But then, when hasn't that been the case?
I'm still reeling from the horror of "Fight Club"...

It certainly seems that the only time such games are any good is when the original owners maintain control over the game design. Saying that, Microsoft didn't butcher Mechwarrior anywhere near as much as they have Shadowrun.

That's a very cynical attitude to take (well done sir!). Obviously alot of games are repackaged crap, much like most art is too; but what about all the great games that have come out of the industry?
What about the Fables, the Killer7's, the metal gear solids, the psychonauts, the GTA's?
