I've got a character concept in mind, but I need to look a bit older to pull it off. I'm mid thirties, but with my trademark beard, people often mistake me for mid-forties However, I need to shed the beard for this character, and look old, tired and run down.
I'm already receding at a rate of knots, and I have no intention losing anymore hair voluntarily. So I'm looking for make-up tips. Any suggestions?

Well, bit of grey in the hair always works wonders, like a white or grey wig, or even a bit of chalk dust. Also eyeliner or something on wrinkles you already have does a grand job. Brown for liver spots on your hand. I can definitely recommend a walking stick/staff and a bit of a stoop possibly even a fake hump depending.

Screw your face up and trace along the creases with a light brown eyeliner pencil, use a light foundation to highlight the ridges, cheekbones, etc. and lighten overall skin tone. Darken the eyesockets using a combination of black, brown and red makeup but make sure it's very lightly applied as you'll be going for sunken rather than dead.

| Stay up all night? You'll feel and look like crap the next day. Or just find and hang around the youngest and fittest players you can find. You'll feel old in no time.

True, I'm really not a night person, so that would work. On the other point, I'm the oldest player in one group, and yes I do feel old whenever I try to have a chat with the 20-year olds about any aspect of pop culture.

| Try streatching the skin and painting on a thin layer of latex. When it drys let the skin retract and you'll have wrinkles like you always dreamed of! Works well round the eyes; it makes crows feet. You'll probably need to poweder afterwards to stop it looking shiny. Don't really know if you'll need to add a bit of paint to the latex, maybe use foundation afterwards. Givit ago!

| http://www.monster-costumes.co.uk/ do a hair whitener by Mehron - it comes in a little bottle with a brush (like tippex) and can be used to add fairly effective streaks.

| You can use snaz or grimas easily enough to add white highlights to your hair, unless you want to go completely white Id go for that cheap option... You can do good aging effects with latex, but its a pain to get off, literally.
